I said I was putting the fabric decision for A Saviour’s Praise aside and would think about it later but I keep thinking about it. I think I just want to get the decision made and be done with it.
Today I pulled out my one strand project and before I started stitching, I thought . . this could be the perfect fabric for A Saviour’s Praise.
The fabric is Cafe Au Lait by Zwiegart and I do have a fat half of that in my stash, which is enough for A Saviour’s Praise.
The fabric on the right is the Cafe Au Lait. The middle fabric is Aged Paper. The fabric on the left is the Light Hazelnut that I also like but it’s 36 count, which is fine, though I was wanting to use 40 count. Those stitches in the top left that I made last night look pretty good – not nearly so lost as I thought they looked earlier.
So, for now, I’m saying something here will work so maybe I can truly set this aside for almost another month.

I am going to try my hand at shirred rugs!! One of the new ladies at the knitting group does this and she had all the tools to do it. I purchased some of them from her. But her warp cord turned out to be bad and she is going to replace it. She also gave me some scraps to practice with. I think I am really going to like this!! Now I just have to find some cheap wool that people don’t want any longer!

A lot of people in the north find good wool at thrift stores but most people in your area don’t wear a lot of wool so I never had much luck finding it at thrift stores. Sounds like a fun new hobby!

Just found your blog today (thru Jo). I would suggest stitching all of the tans on each piece and then pull it out a different times of day and under different lighting between now and when you start stitching. I have also looked at the chart to see where the color is used and if it is directly against the fabric. I don’t think you could go wrong with either the right or left fabric. The center looks a bit gray on my screen. Saviour’s Praise is a beautiful piece.

Thanks! I can always change the colors if needed. The floss is Anchor and our local JoAnn has that, plus there are four overdyes used so if I need to sub out an overdye, I can do that too. I agree that middle fabric is too gray.
