A Saviour’s Praise by Shakespeare’s Peddler (aka Kitten Stitcher) is my next scheduled project. The front of the chart says “an original design” so this is not a reproduction.
I plan to start it on April 15. A Day or so ago, Jo and I were chatting and she asked if I had seen Lori Holt’s recent video where she showed her finished piece. I had not so I watched it that night
You can find Lori Holt finished A Saviour’s Praise in this video. Look at about 26:02 time . . that’s where she starts talking about it.
A Stitch Along:
Yesterday Jo and I were talking about A Saviour’s Praise and I told her I’m excited to start mine after seeing Lori’s. Jo has it too and she said she’d start hers with me on April 15 so we’d like to invite our readers to stitch it with us.
I will say that it’s a fairly large project with lots of stitching but it doesn’t look real hard. “Hard” means different things to different people but it just doesn’t look hard to me. It looks like it has a lot of stitches and will take a lot of time, but nothing a dedicated stitcher can’t handle.
There will be no deadlines. You already know who will be the last one to finish (ME) and Jo will probably be the first one to finish. You can stitch part of the chart, all of the chart, change anything you wish . . no rules!
Size:
On 40 count linen, the stitching area will be 15-5/8″ x 18-1/2″. On 36 count linen, the stitching area would be 17-3/8″ x 20-1/2″.
Fabric:
The model is stitched on 40 count Beach Brew. Lori Holt’s was stitched on 36 count Beach Brew.
Choosing fabrics . . I’m not going to say it’s HARD, but it’s where I struggle the most. I have some fabrics that are harder to find and I always feel like once I use them, I won’t have them any longer so I want to use a more common fabric. The fabric I had chosen in the beginning is Seraphim’s Prairie Grass. I pulled out a few more but will probably stick with that one.
Floss:
The called for floss is Anchor, along with four colors of Weeks Dye Works. The DMC colors are also listed. I think most JoAnn stores have Anchor floss on the spools now.
There’s the called for Anchor/Weeks floss on the Prairie Grass fabric. Not sure why I cut off the right edge of the photo . . but I did.
No matter what color fabric and no matter what color floss, it seems like there’s always a color or two that may blend and not show up.
These three concern me a bit with this fabric. I’m not going to worry about them til I get to the area where they will be used. At that point, I’ll decide if I need to go with different colors.
The Chart:

I originally bought the printed chart but may end up ordering the pdf so I can stitch using the tablet instead of paper.
If any of you want to join us, we’d be happy to have you!

I’ll have to see if I have that chart in the stash when I get home. I know it’s one of those that I had had in my cart and then taken out and added back in (you know how that goes) but I couldn’t tell if it has any one over one in it from the pictures so may not have gotten it. I really should make an inventory list of all the chart names but that just takes time from actual stitching. 🙂

I’ll check it out. I think it might have 1 over 1.
