Especially the “spring forward” time change always just about gets the best of me. I’m such a night owl anyway and it seems like it takes me a month or so to get caught up on the lost hour.
While I don’t recommend this solution, being sick and sleeping most of the day is maing the change not so hard.
Saturday night I tossed and turned and hardly slept. The last time I checked my phone to see what time it was, it was 4 a.m. I think I went to sleep shortly after that. It’s so rare that I don’t sleep. I got up with Oscar about 5, then Vince got up about 6 so I told him I was going back to bed. About 8, he came in and asked if I felt well enough to stay home alone so he could go to the pallet store. Of course, I felt well enough to stay home alone. I would probably have slept til he got back if he hadn’t awakened me but I do always tell him to wake me up if I’m sleeping and he’s leaving. I would like to know if I’m home alone. If Vince is out and about, I’ll answer m phone if it rings in case he needs something.
I got up, took Oscar out, put him in the crate and went back to bed about 8:30. Next time I woke up was when Vince called at 11:30 a.m. to see if I wanted him to bring home food. I told him I was going to cook and he said “Are you sure you feel like doing that?” I had a roast I had already cooked in the crockpot so all I had to do was make salad, heat up the roast and some rice that was in the fridge already cooked.
Then, we moved the furniture around and I thought I was going to be awake the rest of the day but as soon as the fever comes back, I feel bad enough to go back to bed. I went back to bed at 4 and slept til 8:30 p.m. so I was awake again at 3 a.m. this morning.
Whether it’s the time change or being sick, somehow I’m going to have to get myself back on a normal schedule.

I hate the time change, pick one and leave it is my thought. It takes me a couple of weeks to get in sync again. I didn’t feel well most of the weekend, but it was a sinus headache, so I didn’t sleep well. Which meant this morning when the alarm went off I was not ready to get up and start moving. I did but it was hard. Plus for the first few weeks it is darker in the mornings, and I really need that sunshine to get me going. But I will adjust, I always do, I’m just hoping this headache goes away soon.

I just read that the Senate approved a bill to keep DST. It won’t start until November 2023. Too late for my work life as I hope to be retired by then, but I think so much better for everyone still working and going to school.

I hope the House passes it too. I hate to “bite the hand that feeds me” but, why not November, 2022 or March, 2023? Let’s get this behind us NOW! 🙂
