Today has been the best day I’ve had since Monday night. Being sick is so darned weird. Remember Monday I cooked food for the entire week. Didn’t feel bad at all. Worked my butt off and then Monday night, I went to bed with a sore throat. You know the rest of the story.
Tuesday was the day we could have moved furniture back on the floor but I haven’t had the energy to help Vince do it. This morning, when I got up, I said “Before I run out of energy, can we please put the furniture back where it goes?”
There’s the breakfast room table on the new rug. I love that rug. Thanks for helping me pick it out! We just unrolled it so I’m hoping it will be flat by tomorrow.
The dining room table has two leaves but, at our house, leaves mean a bigger table and that means more stuff can get piled on it. It’s easy to add the leaves – the’re stored inside the table. We can fit six easily at the table without a leaf. I’m probably going to order a large rug for that room but the one that’s in there is such a good match. I’ll get the breakfast room area the way I want it and then I’ll decide what I’m going to do with the dining room floor and window.
I brought one of the spinning wheels in to the breakfast room. See the opening to the living room? I’m thinking I might bring a recliner from the living room into the breakfast room – kinda where the spinning wheel is. We have an extra recliner in the living room. Right now, we have four in there and that’s too many. Three, along with the love seat will work much better. I could put the smaller new run under the recliner and that could be my cross stitching nest. It would put me closer to the kitchen, kinda keep the living room neater, though you would still see the stitching chair. Then I could put the spinning wheels on the other side of the breakfast room. I’d need another rug. I could use an extra dining room chair, which is what I use for spinning anyway. We have 8 dining chairs or, I could just borrow a chair from the breakfast room table – probably a better idea. That way . . I don’t have to buy a new chair. Plus, if I don’t like that setup, all I have to do is put everything back like it was.
This is the other side of the breakfast room and it would give me plenty of room for a couple of spinning wheels and the little storage unit I have for my spinning.
The three little cross stitched pieces are back up on the wall. The pretty little storage drawer unit is back in place. The coat rack . . not quite sure where it ended up but I’ll find it.
My goal for the rest of the day is to stay awake, maybe get a little cross stitching done . . we’ll see.

I’ve always put rugs upside down for a week or so and weight the corners. As well, I’d walk along those wrinkles a few times a day and stomp them out.
I do hope you’re on the mend…one more long night’s sleep for good measure? 😉

Great idea. Thanks!

Do you have a cushioned pad under your new rug?

Not terribly cushioned. I think it’s 1/4″ thick.
