I would say (1) I didn’t do so well with the “I’m not buying anything” and (2) I could have done a lot worse!
I held out til last night, decided to buy three or four charts, added a bunch more to the cart but came to my senses before I ordered them all.
Here’s what I did order:
The Mighty Oak by Blackbird is on my list to start in December. It says something like “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.” I think the above piece will be a good companion for that one. This new one is Vintage Acorns by Jeannette Douglas.
As you can see, this one is Humming of the Bees by Blackbird Designs. Their designs can just disappear out of print within a blink of the eye so I didn’t want to miss out on this one. I love the house and the borders. Of course, I love the alphabet.
Another Blackbird Designs booklet and this one contains some out of print charts that I would love to stitch. I think it was a five part series or SAL from several years ago and that’s what’s shown on the cover.
This may be one of the first ones I stitch. It’s This is The Day by Plum Street Samplers.
This is one I wanted to make for Addie so I ordered it.
That one is Corgi Caboodle by Plum Street Samplers.
The ones I will probably order . . maybe today, maybe on Black Friday:
I haven’t stitched any of the Prairie Schooler Santas but I definitely want to stitch some so I will get this one.
This is A Tisket, A Tasket by Rosewood Manor. There’s something about it I love but I can see it being kinda boring to stitch. I have to think about this one.
This one is Hannah Dawson 1831 by Fox & Rabbit. I’m torn on this one too. It looks bigger but the finished stitching size is about 10″ x 12″. This is one of those samplers that I drool over when I see that someone else has stitched it. I love pink and green together so, I think this is on my short list.
I like a lot about this one. It will finish at about 8-1/2″ x 13″. These colors go along with several other Scarlett House projects I want to stitch. I will stitch initials under the crowns for people who have meant something to me. I’ll have to think about that for a while.
This is Philadelphia Vine 1755 by The Scarlett House. I’m not sure what it is about this one that calls to me but I like it a lot.
Some of these I may change my mind about and some I may buy. Right now, I like them all enough to buy them. We’ll see!

OOPS! But the temptation is just too great! While I do not share your enjoyment of pieces considered samplers, there are two charts you show that I REALLY like and though I am barely back to cross stitching, I may have to order. I’ll make a trip to the LNS again first. There is no one that understands OOPS better. I have just taken 3 boxes that I couldn’t lift and a couple of heavy bags to church for the MCC Relief Sale Quilters’ Corner. After the workshop I took yesterday, I purchased $100 worth of fabric!! What’s wrong with this picture/me?!!

Hmm, Why don’t you show us what you already have?? We could maybe help you see that you already have samplers like the ones you are thinking of buying…

I have three of those on my wish list, the two Plum Street and the Praire Schooler Santa. I haven’t purchased them yet because I am trying to be good. I am not totally winning either. I did buy two patterns from Ukrainian designers, just to help out a little. And I have bought floss. I have dyed two fabrics recently so I didn’t have to buy any. And although they aren’t perfect they work and I had fun making them.
I think you have cut back significantly and that is really what matters. Just what I have seen from IG I have added about 10 or 12 patterns to my wish list. Some I really want like the Plum Street and some I really like but can’t decide if I really want them. But I have enough to keep me busy for now and I have 3 new starts in March…Blessed, Spring Deer (birthday start niece) and Hen Peck (birthday start sister-in-law). Although if you do a SAL for either or both of the Plum Street ones that might tip my hand…hehehehe.

They are all lovely, but I am also really drawn to A Tisket, A Tasket as well.

…I like them all but Vintage Acorns is my favorite!

I LOVE “This is the Day”! Really tempting me to order and I haven’t stitched in years! I would have to get needle, linen, floss… this would add up quickly. I better just stick with knitting socks… or the cross stitch piece I began about 30 years ago and it is still unfinished. Lol.
