The day before we got Oscar, we bought him some toys. One is a little blue . . probably a dog. I call him “the blue man” and Oscar knows him as the blue man.
Poor blue man .. he’s had a lot of abuse in one week.
I’ve sewn him up trice and he has another hole (just above the tag). I told Vince . . I’m kinda tired of sewing up this toy every day. Vince said “But he loves it!” Yes, but he loves anything you give him. He won’t miss it long if we throw it out.
I had to go to the doctor this morning. We were close to running out of milk and Target was the closest place to stop so Vince offered to leave me sitting in the car while he went into Target to get milk. He said he got inside and remembered we bought the blue man at Target.
He bought five more. That should last us through the end of March! Vince said there were eight in there, he got five and left three. I told him . . it’s a squeaking stuffed toy. When Oscar destroys all of these, he isn’t going to car if the toy is a blue man, a red fox, or a gray cat . . something that’s fairly soft and squeaks.
Who wants to bet that before long, we’ll have dozen blue men in the drawer . . that’s how Vince shos.

Have you considered one of the Nylabone brand bone-like chew toys? They are now scented to make them attractive to dogs. Our dogs have always loved them. They are strong and durable, and Oscar cannot tear them apart.

We have those too but the blue man seems to be his his favorite.

We have a new kitten at our house. We bought him a little frog toy that ribbits. He LOVES it. It only lasted about a week. We had trouble finding another so I ordered one from Amazon. We have since found another so now he has three! I performed ‘surgery’ on the first one to find out what size batteries it uses. Couldn’t find batteries so more have been ordered. We do try to keep our pets happy!

hi Judy, if you throw out Blue Man, be sure to take out the squeaker. I got a yard of fleece from Joanns and made some “babies” for Baxter. Just a rectangle, about 3”x7” with stuffing and the squeaker. Just the right size for a small dog. When one gets too beat up after repairs. There is enough fleece to make more. Oscar sure is a cutie.

Lol, that’s too funny! I want a puppy so bad, but my hubby says no. After reading your posts…maybe he’s right! ?

Oscar can be such a pain and about the time I’m wondering why on earth we got a puppy, he wants me to pick him up and he sticks his head on my shoulder, as close as he can get, all cuddled under my chin, and sleeps for an hour. I love him so much. I may complain about all the chewing and the accidents in the house but there’s nothing like a puppy.

Vince loves him and wants him to be happy. I think it is cute. But then I am a doggie spoiler as well, so I understand.

How funny! I keep Quincy’s toys by the back door. And since we have a fenced in yard, they can go out and do their thing for as long as it takes. To get Quincy to go out I tell him to take his bear out to pee!! He grabs the bear and takes it outside! Of course, I have to go out and pick them up after all of them get outside! But that is part of being the parent of a pet. They are so cute!

I wouldn’t let either of our dogs out alone even in a fenced yard because of their size and hawks, etc. Rita hates the cold and Oscar seems to love the cold. We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow night so it will be interesting to see what he thinks of that. When it’s really cold and frosty out, he loves to lay down with his belly on the ground. Of course, his belly is almost on the ground when he’s standing up.

I don’t think a hawk could pick Quincy up, but yours are too small to let them out alone. You are right in not doing that.
