Can you believe we’ve had him over a week? Here’s what he looked like last Saturday when we got him.
Here’s what he looks like now.
The above photo was taken yesterday. The one below was taken just now but he’s frustrated with me because he wants me to hold him and I’m trying to do this post . . then I will hold him.
When Chad and Nicole were here yesterday, they kept saying “He’s grown so much!” We don’t see it since we see him every day but looking at the first photo, I can see how much he’s grown.
He’s matured a lot. Several days ago, he started growling at his toys. We had heard him bark but had never heard him growl. He also has learned to jump . . which we discourage because of potential back injuries. But if there’s something hanging over the edge of the table, or sitting in the recliner seat that he wants, he’ll jump to try to get it. He hasn’t learned to jump on the sofa or chairs yet. We will not let him do that and will teach him to let us pick him up so he doesn’t jump up on our laps.
This is how he thinks he’s supposed to lay on his bed. When we put the bed down, he immediately flips it over and gets on it like this. The problem is . . same thing with everything he comes in contact with . . he chews everything. You can see pieces of fuzz on the carpet from something else he’s chewed up.
He’s a rascal. I had told the lady who had the puppies that I wanted one that had some spunk. Every day we say “I’m glad we didn’t get one that had more spunk!”

My dog didn’t like the inside of those beds when I got her. I put a soft fleece in there and she liked it much better. Makes it easier to keep the bed clean too.

I can’t put anything in his bed til he stops chewing but I do have fleece and I have Minkee. He would probably like both of those.

My current dog laid on the floor and only put his head on the bed for a long time. He still sleeps in weird but has learned it is softer on the bed rather than beside it.

Someone on Instagram as a lab puppy that is growing quickly (over 40 pounds now), and still tries to sleep “in” his bed. It’s adorable.
