Chad and Nicole needed something in Joplin so they drove down, did what they had to do, stopped by to get Addie, visited a while, played with Oscar and Rita, and left. Even with Oscar here, the house seems so empty with Addie gone. Here’s where I tell myself to grow up but I’ll say it anyway! I wish we lived closer! Never going to happen and I’m 500% thrilled to be this close but I’d love to be able to run by and see them every other day or have Nicole stop by and get rolls for dinner or something like that.
It will be at least three weeks before I get to see her again. They have things happening . . we have things happening. Just the way it has to be.
As they were leaving, I said “I can’t wait til I can have her for the weekend again!” Chad said “I’d like to spend a weekend with my daughter!” I said “Stop being so selfish!” He knew I was joking. I’m sure it makes Addie feel good to have us all wanting to spend time with her.
I’m always tired when Addie leaves. She isn’t any trouble but it’s just a different routine when she’s here.
Right now it’s raining. We put Speck’s rain coat on Oscar and he was ok with that but about the time I got him outside, it thundered and he was sure that was the end of the world . . all he wanted to do was get back in the house. We’ve had a couple of breaks in the rain and managed to get both dogs out to take care of business.
I think I’m going to take a shower (it’s 6:30 here), then see if I can sit in my chair and stitch til bed time.

I had my 6-year old grandson here from Friday night till this afternoon, too, and it’s always great fun. When he got back home his mom sent me the following text:
Mama: I missed you!
James: “Me too. Well…I didn’t REALLY miss you, because I like being at Grandma’s house. I wish I could live there.”
Hahahaha!!! He doesn’t realize yet that if he lived here 24/7 it would be a whole different ball game. Grandma wouldn’t be playing with him all day, and he’d be doing a lot more by himself. 🙂 Aren’t grandkids fun? 🙂

Exactly. Real life isn’t nearly as much fun! 🙂
