Yesterday I got a decent amount of stitching done.
I’m showing a closer view of my stitching. I’m still not a perfect stitcher and probably never will be. I will tell you that when I first started stitching last year, I would look at pictures of the stitching done by others and I knew my stitching wasn’t nearly as good as what I was seeing. I’ve stitched consistently now for a year and I’m pleased with how my stitches are looking.
So . . if you look at Jo’s stitches, and they look MUCH better than mine do but just know that with a little time and consistent stitching, your stitches will improve. That’s IF you feel you need improvement . . I’m not saying you do need improvement . . just if you want them to look better, they can and they will!

What you show here certainly makes this piece tempting! It looks great and, of course, such a wonderful thought. I may be a bit emotional today; I sent early morning message to our first born trying to tell him again the joy and blessing his arrival was and continues to be! I should have ordered the kit when it was offered!

Well shoot. Now I see the X’s should touch. I have a thread between each. I have done the top leaves and the pumpkin. I will have to pick it all out

Yes. The top right corner of the left stitch should share the hole with the top left corner of the next stitch. No threads between them. Sorry.

Hi Judy,
Thank you for helping with this stitch along. Ok, I actually started stitching this before we were supposed to start, so I started with the center pumpkin. Did that, got off a little bit, but it’s okay. Now, I am going to do the green leaves above the pumpkin. Would you count up to the farthest away from the pumpkin and work toward the pumpkin OR work out from the pumpkin?
Next question, I had commented to Jo earlier that I couldn’t see my 32 count, but that is not actually the case, once I stitch the first leg of the “x” (using two threads), the thread covers so much of the linen that it is difficult to see where to put the needle for the second leg. Ok, that is not actually a question, but I think my next project I should use 30 count, would that make a difference?
Thanks for your help and opinions.
Also, I used to read your blog when you were a quilter and some how lost track of you. I think I got a new computer and didn’t get my blogs transferred. Anyway, I’m still a quilter, do you still have all your quilting stuff? Or are you just on hiatus?

I would work from the pumpkin out. I always try to start in the place that really matters that things meet up correctly.
30 count would make a difference. I’m pretty happy using 1 strand even on 32. It will not be SOLID coverage but I think it looks fine.
I used two strands on this one, 32 count.
I used one strand on this one on 32 count.
I still have all the quilting stuff. Longarm has been sitting for for a year not even set up. 🙁
