Oscar is Here

We met the lady today to get Oscar.

It’s a good thing I brought that little blanket for him because not long into the trip home, he peed and thankfully it went on the blanket and not on me. Later, at home, we went outside and walked and played in the leaves and grass, and walked and played and finally peed and pooped outside. Yay, Oscar.

We came in and played more in the floor, then he and I both stretched out on the floor and took a nap.

He slept about 20 minutes, then we went outside again, peed, played and took another nap.

I thought I could cross stitch while he was sleeping but all I want to do is watch him sleep. I was a bit concerned that I would have a hard time getting attached to him .. that, as I knew, he would never be Speck, but . . after about 3 minutes with him, I was so smitten.

Vince had to hold him while I wrote this blog post.

Oscar whined the whole time til I went back and got him. Have I created a monster already?

  1. He is absolutely lovely. The breeder should be very happy with the loving home he has gone to. Do you leave his harness on all the time? or is it just at the beginning of his new life? Is he a purebred?

    • I will take the harness off at night. I haven’t found a good fitting harness for dachshunds so I have them made at Dachshund Delights but I’m going to wait til he gets to a spot where he isn’t growing so quickly – those harnesses are a bit expensive.

      Yes, he is a purebred.
