Our Anniversary by Sampler Cove is a chart I ordered not long after I started cross stitching so I’ve had it about a year. It’s charted for Victoria Clayton silks (only three colors but 3 bobbins of two colors and 2 bobbins of the third color).
I think I put it aside when I first got it because I had no idea about Victoria Clayton silks but now that I’ve used them and love them, I’m wanting to stitch it. I will not start it til I finish the one length project, which has totally been put on hold til I get Teresa Kogut’s market piece done. “Done” doesn’t mean finished – it means stitched til I have to stop and send it to her unfinished.
Anyway, Our Anniversary will be what I start after I finish the current one length project or, if I don’t have it finished by January 1, then I’ll start this one and maybe have a redwork project I work on Monday through Friday and one I spend a lot of time stitching on Saturday. We’ll see but I want this one on my redwork wall.
Stitched on 36 count linen, it will be 10.25″ x 15.25″. Stitched on 40 count, it will be 9.25″ x 13.75″. I’ll go with whatever fabric I have that’s the color I want to use.

I really like that pattern! It’s going on my wish list. Like many others, I used to cross stitch back in the 80’s and 90’s and for the past couple of years have been trying, without much success, to get back into it. I’d always stitched multi-color projects on aida using 2 strands of floss, and progress was always painfully slow. But when you proposed the one-length SAL, I decided to join the fun and also try something new – a redwork project on linen using just one strand of floss. Those little changes made all the difference! I’m enjoying cross stitch again and making good progress. Most days I do two lengths. Thanks, Judy (it’s all your fault, lol)!
