The final “Box of Fun” from The Loopy Ewe has arrived.
Loopy is retiring and the yarn shop is closing. There was a sale and I had a credit so I ordered enough Jamieson & Smith 2 ply jumper weight yarn for at least two sweaters.
This is my favorite sweater yarn, especially for colorwork. I have the pattern for one of the sweaters already loaded into Knit Companion, the knitting software I love. I won’t be starting anything new til I finish Gilda and Wool & Berries.
This is Gilda and I’ve made progress on it since the photo was taken. I’m using Jamieson & Smith on this project.
I’ve added a third stripe on this one since the photo was taken. I’m using Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt yarn for this one.
The Jamieson & Smith yarn is Shetland wool and the Sandes Garn is Norwegian wool. Both of these are warm, work horse yarns that outlast the softer hand dyed yarns I used for years. I’ll take these rougher, more durable yarns any day now. But, I don’t ever need to buy yarn again so when I’m in the mood to knit, I’ll use whatever I have here and won’t be buying yarn.

Did Vince do a happy dance when you told him The Loopy Ewe was closing? 🙂

That blue and yellow combination in Gilda is gorgeous.

My box of fun didn’t have the sticker. 🙁 Of course I didn’t order a whole lot, and my box of fun came in a soft mailer instead. Maybe the stickers don’t stick to those as well.
