This morning we took a load of dirty clothes upstairs to wash.
We walk into the laundry room from the garage. The laundry room has tile floor so Vince sat the laundry basket down, the walked to the door and looked in at the kitchen floors. Then we grabbed a few things out of the garage fridge and went back through the yard to the basement.
I told Vince . . I feel like we’re living in our parents’ basement and when they leave to go to work, we run upstairs, do laundry and steal food. 🙂
It’s a pretty day. Vince does not like winter but it isn’t really cold out today. It’s in the mid 50’s at almost 2 p.m. I told Vince . . It isn’t so bad living here in the winter. He looked around at the piles of snow that hasn’t melted yet and the snow still melting off the shaded areas of the roof and the back steps and I think he said something . . but I”m not sure so I’m going to assume he agreed with me. 🙂

HI, I am a new follower. Here after joining in on the upcoming SAL with Jo. Hang in there! In 2001 we remodeled our raised ranch, adding an upper floor. Four of us, My husband and I and a teen and preteen sons hunkered in the basement for almost a year. Microwave cooking and washing the dishes in the tub. I survived it.

Yes, it can be done. A year with two boys . . bless you! 🙂
We’re not having any problems and by the time we get used to it, we’ll be able to move back upstairs.

When I was married to the farmer we were renting a house that sold so we had to move. In that time someone felt sorry for me and gave us a house to be moved and we were still remodeling it when we had to move. I had ONE electric outlet that we kept the refrigerator plugged into til I got home from work (20Miles, 30 minutes) with the three year old. It was January, cold weather. I would unplug the fridge take the toaster oven out to the front porch plug it in and make a casserole supper. He would finally drag in and we would eat. Put the dishes in a bucket that I would take to work the next day and wash in our office kitchen. We would then plug in the tv and watch for a while. Go to a neighbors house to shower every night for SIX WEEKS.
Doesn’t your set up look better now?
