this morning I told Vince I was going to make banana blueberry bread. I’m still trying to clean out a fridge and there are a few packages of frozen bananas and a ton of frozen blueberries. I had opened a bag of blueberries yesterday for blueberry pancakes and hadn’t used them all so there was over a cup of blueberries defrosted in the fridge.
Just after lunch I was reading FB and saw where my friend, Beth, had made banana bread using sourdough discard and chocolate chips. Today was the day to feed the sourdough so I did that (see it sitting there with the green lid?) and saved the discard. I grabbed a bag of chocolate chips and I was off to the races.
Pretend you don’t see the sour cream sitting there because it actually goes with a different recipe I was making. I hate it when sour cream photo bombs my ingredient picture! 🙂
I added black walnuts . . and they aren’t in the picture. Guess I didn’t do so good with photographing the ingredients, did I?
Once the bananas thaw, I mash them right in the bag so I don’t have to mess up a bowl or fork or anything!
I used two pans and poured half the batter into one pan, then added chocolate chips to the remaining batter and poured that in a separate pan. I didn’t want chocolate in my banana bread but Vince would appreciate it in his.
Mine on the left . . Vince’s on the right.
That was a nice little treat.

yum! But tell that pesky sour cream to stay out of the picture, or we will all get confused!

And thanks for the banana tip! No banana bread baking going on around here–Mike went to the cardiologist and she told him he was obese so now we are dieting–sort of!

If Mike is obese, we’re in serious trouble at our house.
