See anything wrong with this picture?
Besides the fact that Vince has on shorts, white socks and Crocs . . see anything else wrong? Yes, of course, painter’s tape on the concrete from when we painted the deck stairs four months ago. Anything else? The green tarp? No idea what he has under there.
Anything else?
OK . . I’ll help.
He’s going around putting the faucet covers on all the faucets while wearing shorts and short sleeves because within about 36 hours from when the photo was taken, we will have sleet, ice and 5 – 10 inches of snow!
Vince and Jeremy both say we don’t need faucet covers because of the freeze proof something but I’m the one who left the hose on the faucet in Kentucky, the pipes froze, we had water in the basement and a rather expensive plumbing bill, floor covering and drywall/painting bill. So, I ALWAYS make sure the hoses are off the faucets and every faucet has a $2 insulated cover over it.

That’s what I think too. I’d hate to look back and wish we had put those covers on. If we don’t need them . . no big deal.

The shorts made me smile cause out here a lot of guys wear shorts all through winter!

It was warm enough for shorts yesterday. In fact, last night, we almost turned the a/c on. Vince said this morning . . I forget how HOT you are when the house isn’t freezing. I don’t think he meant that as in the typical “HOT” context. He meant – stay away from me. I don’t want to sweat. Well . . I hope you know what I’m trying to say. 🙂

I think you are wise to do this, I don’t know if I trust anything any longer after last winter! 65 today and tomorrow it is supposed to start going down rapidly! Tomorrow night rain, sleet and snow with the temp less than 20 degrees. Friday night it is supposed to go down to about 9 degrees!!

We are a day ahead of you. It’s going to start sleeting here about 3 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) and our low will end up around 9 for a couple of nights but, this is much more common for us than for y’all. We’re also supposed to get 4 – 8″ of snow. They’ve already closed the schools for tomorrow for Addie. They’re supposed to get up to 18″.
Y’all stay safe and I hope you don’t have any broken pipes!
Nelle Coursey says
You all stay safe also!! I am going to leave the pipes dripping on all the faucets. And as long as we have electricity, I will run a little heater in the laundry room. Also will keep the doors to the cabinets where the sink is open a little so some of the heat can get in there. As long as they don’t start doing black outs, we should be ok.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
I was going to say . . leave the cabinet doors open but you have that covered already. I’ll leave the cabinet doors open on the cabinets in our bathroom, which is on the north wall.
I’m not too concerned since it was down to -20 several nights in a row here last year and nothing froze but . . there are no guarantees.
