We’re Ready for the Floor People

Last night I dust mopped and then wet mopped all the wood floors so the floor guy doesn’t think I’m a really bad housekeeper . . which I am. I got everything moved downstairs so hopefully we’ll have everything we need.

The floor guy had told me last week he was a bit behind and it might be Tuesday or Wednesday before he gets here. He called this morning and said it will probably be Wednesday but that’s when we’re expecting snow so it may be next week.

There’s so much we could do with the breakfast room. If I put the spinning wheels downstairs, I would have room to put a comfy chair, a small table and a light in the corner and make that a little stitching area. It’s closer to the kitchen and the laundry room, which is where I spend most of my time when I’m not actually stitching. It would be a potential problem for Boots but if I’m in there with him, I could maybe keep him off the countertops.

Being in there would also keep my magnifying lamp from bothering Vince’s eyes. I have to keep a dish towel or a pillow case over it to see it out of his eyes and that’s a bit awkward for stitching.

It’s something to think about.

You can see Rita’s little setup. She sleeps in there and stays in there when we aren’t in the house with her.

We won’t move Rita’s little area downstairs til the last minute . . which could be Wednesday or Monday.
