A mess doesn’t usually bother me too much. I’ve never been a good housekeeper. About the only time I get frustrated with a mess is when we are moving .. when there are a million things to be done; I can’t find anything; I’m trying to function and it’s almost impossible. Until this last move from Texas, we almost had movers so when I got to the point I couldn’t take it any more, I’d go to a friend’s house or go anywhere to get away. I guess that’s kinda what I did in Texas. The movers made the first trip here; someone had to be at the house when they got here so I came and stayed. I did offer numerous times to go help Vince but he wanted me to stay where I was .. I think he meant . . stay out of his hair!
This evening we moved the breakfast room table and four chairs into the sun room. Also in the sun room is the cabinet that holds the big containers of spices, the three tiered baskets that hold onions, potatoes, etc. and four dining room chairs.
I moved three spinning wheels and a chest that holds spinning wheel “stuff” into Addie’s room, along with floor frame for cross stitching that I keep in the breakfast room and the three tall bar stools.
We pushed the sofa up about two feet from the fire place, put the sofa table between the recliners and the sofa. When the floor guys get here, Vince will get them to help him move the dining table (that seats 8 and I couldn’t start to move it) into the living room. Vince still has to move the tall chest from the foyer to the living room.
In the morning we will set up Rita’s little fence in the basement. I keep forgetting to get the vacuum hoses out of the hall closet. I think that’s all we have left to do but . . the mess. I want to escape and that’s not an option.
Now that the ice is going to all go south of the interstate, I don’t even know for sure that the floor guys are coming. They live about 30 miles south of the interstate.
I can do anything! I can live with this mess. I don’t have to like it though!

Don’t think of it as a mess. Think of it as “In transition”

1991, we added on and remodeled our former home. For several weeks, I/we didn’t have the kitchen and main bathroom. People couldn’t believe we remained in the house! I moved electric cookers, coffee maker etc. to one bedroom. Living room was full and we showered downstairs! Yes, it’s a mess, but it’s so nice when all is completed! I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling for you.
