There were a few things I had to get done this morning before I could stitch. Most pressing were:
- Clean sheets on the bed downstairs
- Towels in the bathroom downstairs
- Extra food for Rita in the freezer downstairs
- A couple of zipper bags of ice in the freezer downstairs
- A couple of gallons of drinking water downstairs so we don’t have to drink out of the bathroom faucet
We’ll stay in the basement on Sunday night and get dressed there Monday morning . . as practice so we’ll know if there’s anything we desperately need that we didn’t bring down. Yes .. it’s going to be an adventure. 🙂
As far as stitching yesterday . . I’m glad I switched over to using orange floss. I was getting tired of brown. This one is Thy Love Divine by Hands Across the Sea Samplers.
I also got the heart almost stitched for Addie’s valentine pillow for 2023. This one is Be My Valentine, a freebie from Colorado Cross Stitcher.
On 32 count linen, I know I need to use two strands, and I did in the border, but I don’t like stitching it and I don’t like the way it looks. For the heart, I figured it was ok to make it a bit “open” or “lacy” so I stitched the big heart with one strand. I’ll go back to two strands for the smaller hearts and the words, which I hope to get finished today.
Even though this one is small, I’m counting it as a finish and that will give me two finishes in January.
By the way, I’m going to start reporting on the one length project once a week – probably on Mondays. There was so little progress to show with posting it every day. Wait . . we could say that about all my projects! I’m not terribly fast but I’m not terribly slow – there’s just a lot of other stuff going on – mostly cooking lately but soon it will be gardening and I can’t wait!

I agree on the one length project, I can see progress but it really doesn’t look like much each day. I think posting once a week is a good idea. I’ve been doing every 3rd or 4th day because each day’s progress is so limited. I will say it has been hard a couple of times not to continue and do more. I think part of it is because I’m enjoying using the Sulky thread and part of it is I really like the project. I’m am going to use the Sulky thread on my cross stitch camp project, so that should help. I’m also excited to start my February WIPGO, well one of them. One I love and the other I think it maybe the fabric, if I work on it and don’t like the fabric I may start over, but we will see.
