I don’t think I posted about this but there’s a pallet store in Joplin that we had been going to and . . well, it was kinda junky. We found a few good things in there but for the most part, I always felt like I was going through the stuff someone left behind after moving out of a house. There’s a pallet store in Chad’s town and one about 20 miles from them and they find the best things – leather jackets, Nike tennis shoes, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, a banneton set . . the most anything costs is $7. They get new merchandise (lots of it!) On Friday or Saturday so everything is $7 that day, then it goes down to $6, then $5, then the last day before the new merchandise arrives, everything is 50 cents. I don’t really enjoy digging through bins looking for something I didn’t know I needed. I’ll hop online, order what I want and be done with it.
The store we had gone to here apparently closed. On the Facebook page, it’s been closed for over three weeks and says something like “exciting news coming soon”.
Chad was talking to the guy who owns the store near him and telling him how disappointed we were with the store in Joplin and they guy said “NO! There’s a nice store there.” He told Chad the name of it so Chad, thinking he was doing the right thing, told Vince. I don’t mind if Vince goes. I don’t mind if Vince goes every day. I don’t care how much he brings home . . just so he puts it somewhere and I don’t have to deal with it.
So, Vince went . . Monday I think. On Tuesday, he wanted to go back but didn’t. Today, he wanted to go back. He was so happy when he couldn’t find the GFCI outlets that he had here and needed to go buy more. I reminded him how many new covid cases we had in our area yesterday so he just went to Walmart because . . we all know you can’t get Covid at Walmart. (JOKE!) I told him . . I can put together a $35 grocery order, order the outlets and you can do curbside. Nope . . has to go in the store.
These purchases are funny . . for various reasons.
We have three showers. We ordered three shower heads that have the removable wands but the hoses on them were awful. Vince wrote the company and told them that the hoses were awful. We had only installed one of the heads in our bathroom and I told Vince . . I hate to make extra work for you but this is just awful so he took it off, put the old head back on and returned the three shower heads. Then he found another shower head he thought might work so he ordered three of those. So far, he’s only put it on our shower and the other two are still sitting in boxes. Then, the company that manufactured the first shower heads sent him three new hoses so Vince said .. I have the hoses, I might as well order the shower heads so then we had six shower heads for three showers.
Today at Walmart, he found this shower head on sale for $10. He said he would put this in Addie’s bathroom. He was afraid she would make a mess with the wand so he said she’ll probably be happier with music. She has to set a timer for her showers – 15 minutes. I’m thinking anyone who can have 7 shower heads for 3 showers should not complain abut the water bill!
The next item . .
This ice cream is my all time favorite. I could eat the entire 14 oz. in one sitting. I rarely buy it because (1) it seems to be everyone’s favorite and it’s hard to find; (2) I don’t need it! I do not need it!!
And, the first time I bought it, Vince said “How much was that?” I told him and he couldn’t believe I would pay $3.49 for one little carton of ice cream. The lesson I learned was . . bring a spoon and eat it before I get home with it!! Now that groceries are being delivered, that trick doesn’t work so well.
Anyway, I rarely buy it. I may buy it twice a year. Sometimes when I buy it, he will say “I can’t believe you spent that much on one little carton of ice cream!” Other times, he will say “You love it, why don’t you buy two cartons?” Men!
Today, they had 7 cartons when he was at Walmart. He bought 6 of them! That was so nice of him but I hope he doesn’t think I’m going to share. 🙂 (You know I will share if he wants any of it.)

You can have all you want of it. I couldn’t imagine eating ice cream with coconut in it. Yuk! To each his own, right? 🙂 When I was a kid, growing up in rural New York state, when we had an ice cream social at church, they always had orange-pineapple ice cream that I just loved. Now that I’d eat all day!! But not coconut flavored….just sound gross to me.

I’ve never noticed bits of coconut in it but it’s almost like it has coconut cream in it. There are bits of pineapple. It is so creamy and so sweet and so delicious!
