The On the Hook fish truck comes to town . . I don’t know how often it comes but I only notice that they’re going to be here about twice a year. The were way up in Joplin . . oh, my goodness . . “way up in Joplin” . . like maybe 8 miles from here . . it seems far when you don’t leave home very often.
Let’s start over:
The On the Hook fish truck was in the Junkerville parking lot near us today. I could eat fish every day. Vince . . not so much. We decided there needs to be a food truck that sells fish and good Italian meatballs. Vince and I would go there every day! I mentioned probably three weeks ago when I first saw that it was going to be here that I would like to go. Vince said “I don’t know if I like their fish.” Well, dude . . how will you ever know if you don’t try it!
Then, after thinking about it, I figured it wasn’t worth it. If he wasn’t going to be happy with it, I wouldn’t enjoy it either so I didn’t mention it. But, I had put it on my calendar, which is also now on Vince’s calendar. I think when my phone alerted at 11:00 p.m., I grabbed it and it said “Fish Truck at Junkerville tomorrow at 11 a.m.”, Vince figured it was pretty important that we go.
My car needed gas anyway so he said “Let’s go get fish!” I said “Let’s bring towels and drinks and eat it in the car because by the time we get home, it will be cold.”
It was kinda fun. Vince said “It’s like we’re having a picnic in the car at Junkerville.” His old CRV has a picnic table that folds out of the back. I told him . . in the summer, we should come in your car and have a picnic with the picnic table that has never been used in 21 years!
Sorry . . I started eating before I remembered to take a picture. They have Sriracha Mayo that I could about drink. Love that stuff.
Vince says he enjoyed it . . that’s good.
There’s another seafood truck that comes to town sometimes. We haven’t tried that one but I’d like to.

My old CRV had the pull-out table, and I never used it either! My current CRV doesn’t have the table, and sometimes I think it should, although I don’t know why since I never used it in the old one. LOL

I think the ones with the pull out tables are kinda collectors items. We thought that was so neat when we bought it. We’re going to do it this spring or summer. Have a picnic at a food truck with the CRV picnic table! 🙂

I’m glad they don’t come around here too often but it’s great every once in a while. Their fries are so good – they don’t really have a coating on them but it’s like the outer crunchy part is kinda thick. Love them!

On the Hook makes the rounds around here to, but I’ve never tried it. Looks delicious in the picture. We have a more local person called Cajun Prairie that has great catfish (he is originally from LA, and goes back every so often to get fish, shrimp, etc) We try to make it to his truck when he is around, also has other Louisiana delicacies.

Send Cajun Prairie to my area please!! 🙂

We had an On The Hook truck coming here every couple of weeks a couple of summers ago. But now we haven’t seen it ages. I loved their fish!

They must get around! They’ve been here before and we enjoyed it! However, we’re spoiled with a little place called A Little Taste of Britain. Their fish and chips are the best! Now all I’m thinking about is fried fish….lol
