This whole story is funny. I unsubbed from almost all the cross stitching groups. Key word: Almost!
I got an email from Kitten Stitcher the other day about a mystery kit. It was all done by Heartstring Samplery and I love all her designs. I read the blurb, wanted it, didn’t get it, kept thinking about it but didn’t get it. Later I looked at it again and I guess I had a look of anguish on my face. Vince said “Why so intense??” I told him . . “I unsubbed from all the cross stitch lists except Kitten Stitcher and Colorado Cross Stitcher because . . I’m not buying anything. Now I get an email about a mystery Kitten Stitcher has. If I don’t get it and it turns out to be amazing, I’m going to be sad. I don’t need it. I have a million charts. I’m not getting it!”
The next day, I decided . . I’m getting it. Went to the website and it was all sold out. I told Vince . . Dang it . . I missed out. He said “You snooze . . you lose!” I told him . . that’s what I get for trying to stick by my word!
Today a package from Kitten Stitcher arrived. I didn’t think I had anything coming from them. I didn’t even mention it to Vince because I knew he’d complain about me buying something else. I opened it and it was the mystery kit. I asked Vince . . did you order something from Kitten Stitcher. He said “Yes! After you went to bed, I went to your computer and found it. Happy Valentine’s Day!” I told him thanks but also told him I hadn’t opened it yet – hoping he will forget about it and I can surprise him with it all stitched. Thou shalt not lie! But . . sometimes in order to keep a surprise, it’s ok, right?
I was really expecting the kit to be a sampler of some kind but it’s the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for Vince. He gave me a gift that I will be able to give to him as a gift.
I’m not going to show it here because some may not have received theirs yet. I checked Instagram and didn’t see it posted anywhere there but once I get started stitching, I’ll share a picture of it..
But, isn’t that neat that Vince bought it for me and I’ll stitch it for him! 🙂

Well its a gift so technically exempted from no buy rule – but it’s not the end of January yet and your buying and now Vince is buying for you – what is going on at your house? Okay – you know I’m kidding and how nice of Vince to have ordered it for you on the sly! A great surprise.

I have to not say anything to him because you know how he loves to shop – even if he’s buying things that he complains about me buying. If he can shop, he’s a happy man!

What a nice thing for Vince to do! I opted not to buy this, so will be anxious to see it when you work on it. Thanks!

That is really sweet of both of you. Sounds like something Pat would do for me and I would do for him. One year on Valentine’s Day I bought Pat a flower with a bear in it. I think it was a little cupid white bear with silver wings and arrows. I was working at the electric company then and they delivered it to me! I tried to tell them it was for Pat, but they said it was from Pat!! We had sent each other the very same thing! We do think a lot alike!!

What a nice story! Are you going to be able to finish it in just three weeks? That will throw your other project timing off!
