The floss has six strands and I’m using one strand so I can get six days worth of stitching done from one section of floss. I think yesterday’s length was the second or third one used out of the current six. When I started to using it, I thought . . I should probably cut my lengths a bit shorter. I think we’re supposed to use lengths that are 18 – 20″ long and mine might be a little longer.
I only got the D and the E done with that whole length of floss and I was thinking I wasn’t going to finish the E. It looked like I might have just one stitch to go and have to end it and finish that one stitch tomorrow. But, I managed . . barely.
Isn’t this project just so pretty? I love it and could easily sit and work on it all day. It’s pretty surprising how much I get done with just one strand per day and the projects I work on for hours don’t seem to go any faster than this one is. Weird.

Looking beautiful! I finally finished the alphabet across the center and just changed colors to start on the flowers at the end of the row. I did more than one strand yesterday and today so I could catch up after the ripping I did. My husband is in the shop cutting some dowels so I can stop folding over the linen since the rolling part of my frames weren’t long enough. It will be nice to have it all out so I can look at it. My eye is getting to where I can usually automatically know where to put the next stitch. However I have found I still need to use the stab method of stitching on this. Even with loosening up the frame I could not do the sewing method easily. As I become more comfortable with linen I might take it out of the frame again and try the sewing method. But, I love it too and could easily spend more time on it every day.
