There’s a Facebook group called 24 Hours of Cross Stitching. I think once each quarter, they have a four day period designated for the members who want to participate to get 24 hours of cross stitching. In theory, all you have to do is 8 hours per day for three days or . . well, after that, it might get a little difficult.
It’s a bit harder for me on the days Addie is here but I’ll take Addie over cross stitching any day.
Today I hope to get at least 6 hours in. We’re having hot dogs for dinner so that means no cooking really. Whether Addie goes home or not on Saturday, we’re having leftovers. We have a fridge full of leftovers . . good leftovers!
The main project I work on will be Thy Love Divine.
Even if I do spend all the time working on this one, I doubt I finish it but I will make some decent progress.

I am doing that as well this weekend. I am hoping to make some good progress on a couple of projects. I don’t know if I will be able to get 24 hours in but I am going to try. I have finished my WIPGO projects so now it is time to push on some of my “series”, I am currently working on 2 different monthly series, so hopefully 24 hours will get the ones I am currently working completed and he next month started. With WIPGO and cross stitch camp next month I will have less time to work on them, so I want to push this weekend.

It’s pretty amazing to see how much you can get done with specific increments of time or floss. Good luck with getting the monthly series projects done.

I love the idea of the marathon stitching but unfortunately I am having to back off on my stitching a little. I’m having a flare up from last year’s shoulder injury (had two rounds of physical therapy last year and my doctor just prescribed some more) and lately I feel like I may have a little “tennis elbow “ on the same arm probably from too much stitching. My dad used to say I had no idea what it was like getting old. He was right! Lol

Very important that you not push it and cause further injury to those affected areas.

In your marathons, please consider getting up and moving around some every hour or 30 minutes for your overall health. I’m preaching to myself as this week I got dangerously dehydrated, spent about 5 hrs straight sitting at work computer, BP went very high, very scary. Now I’m trying to repair on a stress free, four day camping trip.

I rarely sit for long. There’s either something cooking, a dog that needs to go out, clothes to be switched from the washer to the dryer.
Even when I spend 8 hours straight cross stitching, it’s probably never more than 20 minute increments because, especially with Addie here, there’s always something to be done but .. that’s good advice and some day, I’ll probably have more uninterrupted time and sit for longer periods and that’s something I will need to remember.
I do always ALWAYS have an insulated cup by my chair and have water. I can put 9 oz. of water in the cup and will sometimes drink two of those in an hour though my goal is one container per hour so that also means lots of trips to the bathroom. TMI?? 🙂
Have fun camping.

Sounds like the perfect way to spend the weekend.

I hope! Are you staying in and stitching too?

The only time I’ll be opening my door is to bring my grocery delivery inside once its dropped off. Too dang cold. And yes, I’ll definitely be getting in some quality cross stitching time this weekend.

I’ve been doing the 24 HOC weekends for about a year now and I really enjoy them! I’ve never gotten all 24 hours in, but for me it’s just a weekend when I focus on cross stitch in my free time instead of everything else and I get to make some real progress on a WIP. I’m working on the Floral Motif Sampler this time.

This is beautiful. All your work is perfect, at least as far as I am concerned. You are going to have some gorgeous wall hangings or framed art work!

Thank you. You know it isn’t perfect but it looks good enough that I’ll be proud to hang it on our walls.
Nelle Coursey says
No, it is perfect to me! I see no problems with it and love every piece you show. Just like everything you do whether knitting, quilting, or cross stitch, it is beautiful

Thanks. You’re too kind.
