Since Friday night I had reached my January WIPGO goal on And Heaven and Nature Sing, I was ready to put it down for a while. There were several charts I thought about working on but I figured since today is Sunday and I’d get back to Eliza Stone, why not just put two days worth of work on it since I neglected it all of December.
Remember that last week, I totally forgot I should be working on it on Sunday so I worked on it on Monday and here’s where I ended on Monday.
Yesterday, I spent about four hours stitching and I finished the Y, stitched the X and W, stitched the solid line beneath them, stitched farther down on the left border and stitched the lower case a.
There is another partial border that goes from the Z to the right border and then from the W to the left border. I’m just going to work my way through the letters to the end and go back and fill in those borders.
I would love to get all the lower case letters done today but in reality, I’ll be doing great if I get across the first line of them.
I’ll spend today working on Eliza!

Very pretty. I often struggle with boredom if I work on the same type of projects one after another. I’ve become aware that many of my UFO projects are things that I got bored with for a variety of reasons. So I’m curious – do you get bored with stitching sampler style pieces almost exclusively? I’m always impressed by people who have better focus than me.

No, but I generally don’t get bored with much of anything. There are days when I want to work on one project til it’s done and there are days I want to work on 10 projects in one day. I love the projects or wouldn’t have chosen them so getting them finished is important and, I can’t say I’ve ever been bored with a project.
With knitting, I would keep several projects going. One might be for working on in the car – totally mindless. Another might be for when Vince and I are sitting. He’s usually occupied with something but we might talk a little. I can concentrate a little more but not 100%. Another project would be for when I’m alone and lots of counting is required.
So far, all my cross stitch projects have required lots of counting and I can’t work on them much with Addie here or lots of activity. Otherwise, I could stitch the day away on the same project.

Looking good! I didn’t get to spend as much time on it yesterday but I managed to finish that same row you did and I got started on the narrow border between the capital and lower case alphabet. Looking forward to getting back to For the Love of Nature today!
