This probably is something I should not have done with my “no buy” commitment but . . I did it and I feel like I just hit the jackpot so I’m not counting it as a fail.
Several times in the last few days . . don’t ask me why all of a sudden, but I’ve seen people on Facebook show things they stitched from GOS magazine. I had no idea what it was but then someone showed a picture of something they had stitched from an issue from 2010 and that put me on the hunt. I had to figure out this mystery.
I did figure it out. It’s The Gift of Stitching, an Australian magazine that was only published from 2006 to 2012. They have a “package deal” where you can get all 72 of their back issues, digital copies only. The regular pice is right at $40 USD but there’s a 30% off sale now so it comes out to $27.97 USD for 72 issues!! I was fixing to pay the $40 and was all excited about that and then I saw that it was 30% off so I was even more excited. With the cost of charts, I won’t have to stitch but 3 or 4 things in this package to make it worth the cost but I’m 100% sure there are way more than 3 or 4 things I want to stitch.
I’ve only looked at a couple of the issues but this is definitely something I’m very happy to have and wanted to share it just in case anyone else is wanting it.
It comes as a zipped file and I have no idea how to unzip it but I put it all in Dropbox and it apparently unzips each magazine separately for me.
Just wanted to share . . in case there’s anyone else who wants to follow me down that rabbit hole.

I purchased this may some time ago, it a very large file when it unzips. If you double click the file it would open a box that allows you to unzip it. There are some beautiful patterns that’s for sure, have fun 🙂

Dropbox unzipped it and I can open each month, one issue at a time, save what I want to the computer as a pdf. I’ve already set a few of them up in Pattern Keeper.

Hello – I live at an assisted living facility and the shared computers do not allow downloads of any kind. My daughter tried to help me yet couldn’t find any way around the restrictions. Just letting folks know that there are limits.

One more option. If you have a tablet, maybe your daughter could take it home, download the files and then bring the tablet back to you. I’ll try to remember to take my tablet with me when I go away from our wifi and see if I can access a file I had already downloaded to the computer.
If you have access to a local library, you might could go there, and download and print whatever pattern you’re wanting to use or maybe your daughter could do that.
Sorry for your limitation.

Sounds like a great deal!

…How much room do you have in that rabbit hole? I just got the set too. That’s a great price.

I hope you enjoy those issues as much as I am. It was the Tropical Quaker Sampler in 2010 (maybe Issue 53) that made me want this set.

Oh, my goodness. Tell your family you have a headache, curl up in bed with the tablet and spend the day looking at both these!
