I think this stopwatch is going to be a real eye opener as to why I get so little done. Today is one of those days when, up til about 3 p.m., I kinda felt like I had stitched a lot but, with the stopwatch ticking (or not ticking), I realize I hardly stitched at all.
I’ve already written about vacuuming and doing laundry while the dishwasher repairman was here.
I stitched maybe an hour and Vince wanted to go to town. He said if I’d go with him, we would go to Panda Express to eat. I said “I’ll go if we can stop by Natural Grocer and see if they got fresh fennel.” OK . . we had a deal.
We got to Natural Grocer and decided only one of us needed to go in. I hadn’t brought my purse so he ran in. No fennel. They get trucks on Tuesday and Thursday and haven’t received fennel in several weeks though they keep telling me “It should be on the next load. The warehouse doesn’t say it’s out of stock.”
Then we went to the pallet store. Before we left home, I said “Let’s decide on a time limit for rummaging around in there.” Vince said . . give me 45 minutes. We got there and there was a sign on the door “Closed from 12:00 to 2:30. We got there about 12:15. Next stop – Panda Express. We got close to there and could see that the parking lot was full and neither of us wanted to go into a place that was crowded . . though all it takes is one person to share their covid germs!
Fine . . let’s go home . . but we passed Jimmy John’s and there were no cars in the parking lot. I like the sandwiches from there so we grabbed sandwiches to go and went home.
Came home, I stitched for another hour and decided I needed a nap. I slept for three hours! I did need a nap but Boots came in at some point and oh, my . . what a pest. He is a big, heavy cat and his little paws hurt when he steps on me. He walked on me. He tried to lay on me. He put his head right under my chin. He stretched out on my pillow between my head and the headboard. I wasn’t sure which end was where so I got up. It was time for me to get up anyway . . past time. I should have gotten up when he first came in there. I can pet him a bit but I can’t snuggle with him or I’ll sneeze my head off and get watery, itchy eyes. I came out of the bedroom carrying him and Vince said “I wondered where he went.” Vince was probably thinking . . he’ll get her butt out of bed!
Anyway, it’s 10 p.m. and according to the stop watch, I’ve stitched just over 3 hours but I’m hoping to stitch til at least midnight.
When I started today, I had done the A & B on the next to alst row. I’ve gotten a lot stitched. I would love to get through the V tonight. That will finish out the bottom row I’ve started. Then there’s the “border” with the w, x, y and z and there are a couple of rows of lower case letters, which look pretty simple.
I’m thinking if I can get some good Sunday of stitching, I can finish this by the end of January. There are five Sundays in January so . . four more. I’d love to have it finished by the end of the fourth Sunday (23rd) but I doubt that can happen.

There are apps for your phone that track time that would be easier than the stop watch and would keep a record for you. Just google time tracking. I use Time Recording Pro but it isn’t available for all types of phones. You can set up task categories so you know exactly how much time you spend doing whatever you want to track. I use it for work. At the end of the month I can download a report that tells me everything I put into the app. It is actually a big eye opener!

I have an app but I generally don’t use my phone for things other than a phone. I don’t play games or read with it. I bought the stopwatches – 2 for $6 and I bought 6 of them so I can keep one in each project bag. All I need to know is how much time I spend on each project so, for now, the inexpensive stop watches are working fine.

Your bod was telling you that you needed a rest! COVID has really increased here! From 12/30 until yesterday we have had 200 new cases!! So when your body tells you to rest, you do it.

We had over 100 new cases here today and that doesn’t count the City of Joplin – just the rest of the county! We are staying home or, at least I am.

I think staying home is smart. You probably have as many in your city as we have in our county. Did I tell you about my niece going to see her brother and he called to tell her his father in law had it and they were with him? If not, I will email you the entire story!! It is a case of utmost selfishness!

No, you didn’t tell me that story.
