Yesterday Vince installed one of the slideouts in our larger lower cabinet. We have another one that’s large but not as large as this one. I had to take everything out. There wasn’t a ton of stuff in this cabinet because it was so hard for me to get stuff out of the bottom. I think the cabinets are 28″ deep and it’s hard for me to reach things that were in the back of the cabinet.
I helped (I held the flashlight so Vince could see where to put the screws in) and then when I started to put shelf paper in, I realized I had used the last of my shelf paper while lining some cabinets downstairs and never thought about getting more since I already had it in all the cabinets.
Wanting to get things off the countertops, I placed a quick grocery order for Walmart to deliver so I got my shelf paper, got these two drawers lined and things put back into them.
Hopefully today Vince will install the slide outs in the other cabinet and I can get everything off the counter and back into the cabinets.
The dishwasher repairman is scheduled to come Monday (tomorrow, right?) so I’d like for the kitchen to look halfway decent! The holidays have me more mixed up than normal on my days.

My kitchen cabinets have slide outs and I love them. If I have my way I won’t live in a house without them. Enjoy the new additions, they make life so much easier!

Looking good!
I have one cabinet that has the slides and it’s wonderful. I might measure the lower cabinets for these things since it is hard to get to the back of the cabinets. Currently, I have little used items in plastic boxes in the back so that the front stuff doesn’t slide back. I think one box has baking stuff, but I really have no idea.
Were they hard to install? I might be looking at some internet videos this afternoon….

My dad was a carpenter and the house I grew up in had slide-outs in every lower cupboard in the kitchen. The corner cabinet had a lazy susan (2 shelves) so we could always get to the things in the back. It was never something I paid attention to because I grew up with it. After moving out on my own I realized how great it was to have those little “extras” at home. 🙂

Yes! I’ve had a couple of houses that had slide outs on all the lower cabinets and I loved it. We had that in Texas and I’ve really missed it on the larger bottom cabinets.

I love those slide outs! We had those in our previous house. The previous owners in this house did that with a couple of the cabinets but the sliding mechanism isn’t working well so my husband will be replacing them. I keep wondering which project I want him to tackle first when he retires and this might be it…lol

Those slide outs are definitely worth the effort. Our first house in MO had them in all the lower cabinets. The house in Texas had them and when we added new cabinets, we added the slideouts. I knew I wanted them but had forgotten how nice they are. Having the husband home to do those projects is so nice.

Yes, I had them in Texas and didn’t realize how much I missed them til I got them all re-loaded today. I can put so much more stuff in there and get to it much easier.

I thought it was just me that had the days mixed up! I can’t decide what day it is! It feels like it should be Monday today! And I have no reason to even think that because I am retired and I don’t do anything! I guess I have no reason to know or care what day it is unless I have an appointment. LOL

It honestly doesn’t matter to me .. like you said – unless I have an appointment but not very long ago, I could think for a few seconds and figure out what day it is. Now . . I don’t have a clue. I think it’s because I don’t care. It’s like knowing when it’s noon. We eat when we get hungry. No schedule around here.
