Our big weather event thankfully didn’t amount to much. I want the snow but not the ice but then there are plenty who don’t want snow and it all can make driving risky so I’m not sad we didn’t get much.
Looks cold and it is cold! Last time I checked the temp was about 9 a.m. and it was 12 and felt like -5. Vince said “It’s a good day to stay inside and stay warm.” Yes, it is!
Vince put the slide outs in the second set of cabinets so he’s done. I’ll add the liner, put stuff back in and get the kitchen back in order. Vince is going to watch the Chiefs play so we’ll have our afternoon meal about 3:30 so long as there’s no overtime. I think I’ll stitch until time to start cooking and I’ll work on the cabinets while dinner is cooking – more stitching time that way . . I hope.

We got ice under the dusting of snow so have not left the house yet! And don’t intend to. It is cold!! I’ve just finished church on Zoom, so thankful for that technology! Happy New Year, dear friend! and to all fellow followers of Judy too! (an aside…I wouldn’t mind snow if we could get it w/o ice underneath it) Stitch away. I am going to piece, I think. It takes less thinking while watching the Chiefs!

You stay safe! Vince took Rita out this morning but shortly after daylight, the sun was enough to melt what little ice we had on our driveway. Yes, technology is great . . most of the time! 🙂

Would love to get a link from you for the cabinet slide outs. Have several cabinets where that would make a huge difference for me.

… OKC got a dusting of snow, but it is still below freezing (real and wind chill).
Linda – I started looking for the cabinet slide outs and there are a bunch of options – wood, wire, with and without edges, and so on. On some items, I realized that some designs helped with pulling out the shelf by having a larger front edge. Other shelving units have higher sides and backs to prevent things falling. You don’t need those edges if you are storing pans, but perhaps for a pantry area where a smaller item can fall into the back. So much to think about….
But, I was checking the big box stores websites (Lowes and Home Depot) and they do have some good videos on some of the items about measuring and installing. But, there are a lot of other places with the shelving units.
I’ve been thinking about the slide out shelves for a while, but this aging body is telling me to move the shelf mods up on the to-do list!

Good advice. Thank you. I think I need to start researching the options available. Just got new shower heads put in yesterday. Previous ones were basic builder grade. These new Water Pik ones from Costco are heaven!

I didn’t realize there were so many shelving options until I started looking yesterday… however, I think I’ll first do an evaluation of my entire kitchen concerning the placement of stuff. For example, for the upper cabinets, the lower shelves may have only a few place settings with the rest on the higher shelves or in storage. I’ll still modify the lower cabinets with sliding shelving since it is safer in the long run.

Cold weather like yours would keep me inside at the sewing machine or adding binding to a quilt. Good luck with your slide outs!

We were really rooting for the Chiefs! We like the quarterback! Of course he is from Texas!!

Oh, yes, of course we’re rooting for the Chiefs too. Mahomes has made a few appearances in Joplin at community service events since we’ve been here. We’ve never gone but it’s nice knowing he’s in our town.
