January 1 . . the first day of No Buy 2022 and I may have found a loophole.
Today I was planning on fixing a big meal with cabbage and pork and black eyed peas . . we need all the help we can get for a healthy, wealthy, lucky and whatever else all that food means new year.
On the days I’m fixing a big meal (vs. sandwiches or leftovers), we usually have cereal or muffins or something easy for breakfast.
This morning Vince said “How much would I have to pay you to fix a big breakfast?” Whoaaa . . you can’t pay me in cash but you COULD order some cross stitching supplies. I didn’t say that . . I just thought it. In my opinion, but probably not in Enforcement Officer Denise’s opinion, that would NOT count because technically, I did not buy anything.
But, being the wonderful wife that I am <G>, I said “I’ll fix it. You don’t have to pay me to fix breakfast!” (Not today anyway . . maybe another day).
I made a pan of biscuits.
Vince actually had two eggs but I had already taken one up when I remembered to take the picture. Rita gets my whites because I do not like those at all! I wish there was a chicken who could lay only yolks but it doesn’t matter because Vince says I can never have chickens again.
My plate – eggs, grits, bacon and biscuits. It was late when we ate and now I’m not hungry for our big healthy, wealthy, lucky meal. We’ll just have all that stuff tomorrow and hope one date late doesn’t totally ruin 2022 for us. 🙂

You 2 crack me up…..nearly every day 🙂
When people as me how we’ve been married so long (41y now), I tell them sense-of-humor is KEY!
Happy New Year Judy and Vince.

Enforcement Officer Denise says no you cannot bribe your husband in order to get stitchy stuff – especially when the first day of enforcement is not even over yet. ROFLOL I may need to talk to Vince to make sure he does not get tangled and knotted up in your loop holes. 😉

We have had chickens for many years on our property. But we are like you, we sold up and moved to town. I was missing chickens though so we got 5 little Pekin Bantams. They lay the sweetest little eggs which would be just perfect for you as I have found the yolk is almost full size but there is very little egg white. They also don’t lay everyday so we aren’t inundated with eggs which is good. I hope you have a very happy and healthy year.
Kind regards
Kellie

I promised Vince if he would move back to MO, I would not ask for chickens. I did but he says no and I doubt he’ll ever change his mind. When there’s snow and ice, with hills and steps, it’s just something we shouldn’t be doing at our ages.

—You need a sign for your kitchen “Will cook for floss or linen”. I can’t wait to see the new creative loop holes you come up with.

How can I do anything with Enforcement Officer Denise around?? 🙂

We had grits too. I add a chicken bouillon cube when I cook them, when finished I add cheese. They are my favorite.
Happy new year to you and Vince.

Vince adds cheese to his but I don’t.

Did you see the adorable New Year’s finish that Denise had? Will you need making that? I loved it! I have a Santa cross stitch pattern that I bought about 30 years ago that I still love, I may make that now that I’m retired.

I did see it. I might have to make one!
You can do SO much now that you’re retired.
