Yesterday I got a lot of stitching done. I was up early. We had cereal for breakfast. We had leftovers for dinner. About all I did was stitch, print coloring pages for Addie and help her re-arrange some things in her room.
Here’s where I left off Saturday night.
And here’s where I left off last night:
What I stitched yesterday:
- The white snowflakes (?) under the cherries
- The E
- The gold thing to the right of the E and the three gold things above the cup, as well as the gold thing above the D
- The B
- The D
- The three packages
- The heart
- The white line on the cup and the top three of the white decorations on the cup.
I’m not sure what is wrong but the pdf on PatternKeeper didn’t load correctly. All I have is about the left third of the chart, top to bottom. I thought about deleting it all, re-loading it and setting it all up again to see if that changes anything but it’s pretty easy to work this one from the paper chart. Since I bought the pdf, as well as the paper chart provided by the designer, I printed the pdf and am able to write on it and highlight what I’ve stitched.
It won’t be easy to keep up with the number of stitches I make each day. It doesn’t matter enough to me to count them so . . if they’re stitched, they’re stitched but I won’t know how many I’m stitching.
Today I hope to get to the bottom of page 1. There are three printed pages across and three printed pages top to bottom – kinda like a nine patch so once I’ve finished page 1, I’m 1/9th of the way done. In my head, I’m thinking . . if I get 1/9th of the way done in 4 days, I could possibly finish this in a month but . . I know I can’t but it does give me hope that I can get it finished by Christmas. I think I’m going to make my goal of getting one page done per month since I have a lot scheduled. That means I could have it done by the end of September – plenty of time to frame it and have it hanging on the wall by Christmas.
Having said that, since I start a new project on January 1, I really think I can get at least two pages done and maybe into the third page before January 1. Wishful thinking, right?

I stitched like crazy on Christmas Day and am working my way across the top row. I’m at the garland of roses so far. However, two adult kids are here for the next few days so the project won’t come out of the closet. I’m okay with that. I’ve got a solid couple of weeks with no obligations to see how I do. I’ve kind of gridded off the pattern into what I need to accomplish each month (I hadn’t thought about using the pages!) so I have it framed for Christmas. Keep up the great work. It’s inspiring to see how much you get done. I think I finally have the hang of “in hand” stitching. Not loving my linen choice, though, as far as weave and stitching go. I have the opposite problem of you — it seems pretty loose. Love how it looks, though, so it will be fine. I particularly love that it was chosen as a WIPGO for January!

I have yet to figure out why and when some linens are more open than others. The first thing I stitched was open and loose and it was 40 count but the linen fiber was super thin. I have no idea what brand it was but I was not impressed and wasn’t sure I’d continue using linen. You’re right – those projects turn out fine.
You’re doing good too. These are all goign to be so pretty.

Wow you are making great progress. I am working on the Santa as my first small and am doing ok. Didn’t get much done on Christmas Day, but did pretty well yesterday. I don’t know if I can finish him before New Years because I there are several things I need to get done. I have enjoyed working with the silk thread.

That’s a lot of stitching! It’s not that I’m too busy, but I don’t seem to accomplish much. I must get in gear before we start G. Leger!

It’s very pretty, although I can’t “unsee” the stick figures now!

There was supposed to be a grin after that! No sarcasm intended.
