Addie got a few gift cards for Christmas and was hitting me up yesterday to take her shopping. Her dad told her “Go on Tuesday when the stores first open. No one will be there then!” So that’s what she was trying to convince me to do. I told her “No! I’m not going shopping anywhere for anything with Covid as bad as it is.”
Vince’s ears perked up. He heard the word “shopping”.
Vince: Where all do you need to go?
Addie: Claire’s, Hobby Lobby, maybe Starbucks.
Vince: I’ll take you!
Addie: You will?
Me: Have you ever seen how long it takes a young girl to shop in Claire’s or Hobby Lobby?
Vince: Not really!
Addie: I’ll be fast. I know EXACTLY what I want!
Addie and Vince don’t always see eye to eye on things. Ok . . they never see eye to eye on things and I often feel like a referee. The funny thing is that with a lot of people, you can give them “that look” and even though, they don’t totally comprehend what you’re saying, they’ll stop whatever they’re doing. Not Addie. Not Vince. If I give either one of them “the stink eye”, like STOP! Don’t say another word. Drop this conversation now . . both of them will say “What? I don’t know what you’re saying?” Then the other one gets more involved. Ughh! No wonder I have gray hair. 🙂
Then, I said to Addie: “You’re going to go shopping with Vince without me present?” She said “Sure!”
VInce was laughing. He said “She would go shopping with anyone who would take her.” I wanted to say “So would you, dear. So would you!”
Not sure what day they’re going shopping but I am looking forward to hearing both sides of this adventure.
