As you know, all my scheduled starts are in the sidebar. I’ve talked about starts but what about finishes? Oh . . let’s not go there! 🙂
Seriously, I’m starting New Year Sampler today. I’m starting Elizabeth Eyles on January 1. You know New Year Sampler is NOT going to be finished in a week! Then on February 14, I start G. Leger. You know Elizabeth Eyles is not going to be finished by February 14. Plus, there will be two WIPGO numbers called for January and I’ll have to spend 20 hours on each of those two projects! Then, in March, there will be two more WIPGO numbers called and that means two more projects that each get 20 hours of stitching. Plus, mid-March I’ll start Forever and Ever on Vince’s birthday.
I know you’ve seen my WIPGO chart already but seven spots on there are “Any 2022 Scheduled Start” so, in January if one of those numbers is drawn, I’ll spend 20 hours working on Elizabeth Eyles since that’s the only scheduled start that has come up. In February, if one of those numbers comes up, that will be Elizabeth Eyles again unless I wait til February 14 to work on the WIPGO project.
I do have a goal for finishing, which, as is usual for me, I have no hope of meeting that goal but what’s life without goals? <G>
Here are my goals as far as finishing in 2022:
- 5 Smalls for Addie. Valentines is already stitched so that doesn’t count. I’d like to make something for Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those, of course, need to be fully finished.
- 10 Big Projects. I would love to have these framed by the end of 2022 but it all depends on when the stitching is finished. Frames have to be ordered and that takes time so, obviously anything I finish mid-December is not going to be framed by the end of the year. Finished could include projects that are already started:
- Thy Love Divine
- A Changed World
- Eliza M. Stone
- For the Love of Nature
- Any of the WIPGO Projects
- Any of the Scheduled Projets (from the Sidebar, including Sunday Stitch projects)
I would love to have one big finish per month but if I can get 10 done, I’ll be happy.

I did make a start on New Year Sampler. I am doing individual Motifs. On 32 count Linen Mayflower by Hollis Hands Creat. I started with the little tree on the bottom left corner. I will put a toy beside the tree and make an ornament. Only it is my first time to stitch in hand and I am using green Sulky 12 also for the first time. It is very slow going. I have one branch and some of the stem done so far. I like stitching in hand but have to do more to get good at it.

It is awkward at first but if you love it and stick with it, I’m pretty sure it will go faster. Let me know what you think about the Sulky.
