Addie has re-arranged fabric on the shelves and made room on just about every shelf for a “comfy” bed for Boots.
This one has Minky for the bed and knit for the blanket. I love that she piled it all up and put a piece of fleece over the fabric for his pillow. Not sure why the skein of yarn was there but yarn and cats don’t mix so I retrieved the yarn and put it in a tub.
Addie is perfectly happy to stay in the sewing room all day with Boots. I’m not sure Boots is as happy with that arrangement. She had a yarn tub in front of every bed she had made for him. I thought maybe that was for him to jump onto and was going to tell her he didn’t need that but no, that’s where she sits when she reads him a story. Funny girl!

I love that she reads to him!!!! My younger sister tell stories to her stuffed animals when she was little, it was so fun to just listen to her wild tales.

How cute! I think Boots may like her attention. At least he looks comfy! LOL

Vince and I were laughing this evening thinking about what Boots might be thinking. When she spent 5 weeks with us in Texas last summer, she spent most of her time either in the orchard picking and eating plums, or in the sewing room with Boots. He is probably thinking . . please tell me she isn’t staying 5 weeks. She carries him around like a baby, follows him around reading to him. She’s been singing Christmas carols to him too. Poor kitty!

I think he likes some attention but not all day attention. When she isn’t here, he will come upstairs, socialize with us, then he’ll either go off to our bedroom and find a quiet place or go back downstairs and sleep most of the day away. I asked her yesterday if he had nipped at her because that’s what he does to me when he gets too much petting. She said he hadn’t.

She is definitely an only child. I was an only child for years before I had siblings. Only children find things to occupy their time. We had dogs, not cats. No where I went on the ranch did I go by myself, always had to the dogs with me. They were my friends.

Thanks for that reminder. Chad is an only child too and he used to come up with some crazy things to entertain himself. He is crafty and he’s a dreamer so he always had something brewing in his head.
