Considering how few miles we drive, we seem to have more than our share of tire issues. You may remember that in July, 2020, we left early one morning to bring Addie home to MO after she had spent five weeks with us in Texas and within 15 minutes of leaving home, the low tire light came on. We were not quite to the tire shop yet so we made it there and had a flat.
Then in November last year, when Vince was driving here, he had a blowout in the middle of nowhere, still in Texas. Thank goodness for a full size spare because I think it was on a Sunday and he had to finish the drive on the spare.
Yesterday when I drove my car to the hospital, I thought it was pulling to the right but not terribly. Later in the day, Vince wanted to go get custard, thinking that might help his tummy. He still couldn’t drive from the anesthesia so I drove my car and by the time we got home, it was really pulling to the right – so much so that my wrist was kinda achy from keeping it on the road. I was surprised the tire light hadn’t come on and the tire only looks mildly low. We made an appointment for tomorrow to get it re-aligned just in case but Vince said the tire looks “floppy” this morning and even though the pressure is right, the tire doesn’t look right so we’re headed to the tire shop this morning.
I was telling Vince last night . . I know they make (or did at one time) tires that will run and not go flat but last I heard, they weren’t the best riding tire. You can have the best, most reliable vehicle out there, and brand new tires and run over something and end up with a flat tire in the middle of nowhere.
I’ll admit to being halfway crazy but once something happens, whether it’s mechanical, tire . . whatever, then it takes me a while to trust the car again. Friday I have to drive a bit over an hour to get Addie. I won’t be trusting my tires but thankful the tire shop can check it out this morning and if it isn’t the tire, the car will be aligned tomorrow and if it isn’t the alignment . . well . . let’s not go there. 🙂

I have run-flats on my car. I’m not supposed to go more than 50 miles on them and one should not drive much faster than 50mph when on a run-flat. They are EXPENSIVE! To add to that, my car has different sizes on front/back so they cannot be rotated. The warranty is reduced to 21k miles. But I do love my car so it’s the price I pay. Fortunately I don’t drive a ton. My car will be 6yo Dec 26 and I won’t hit 29k miles!
Wishing the best outcome for you!!!!

Hoping it all works out!! And….I’m like you, if something happens to the car, I don’t trust it for awhile…lol. The last time I had new brakes put on one of the vehicles it was making noise. We heard it but the shop never did but they took off the tires and checked everything and it was all fine. My husband who had an automotive background when he was young kept telling me it was fine and it would work itself out but I didn’t like the noise so I had him drive that car for awhile. Now it doesn’t make noise so I guess it worked itself out.

I’m glad it worked itself out. I had the same thing with my car after they changed all the belts and hoses a few years back. Every time I would start the car, I’d hear a CLUNK sound. Vince swore he never heard it though I had him come out and listen to it, with the hood up, and it did it but no . . he heard nothing. We took it back to the shop and they changed all the belts again using Toyota belts where they had used generic belts before. Still did it. I was telling my dad about it and without even hearing it, he said “It’s your a/c.” He told me why and told me to turn the a/c off when I turn the car off and start the car without the a/c on and see if it happens. Nope . . didn’t happen then. He told me it would take time but it would stop, and it did.

Since Covid I don’t drive but about 100 miles a month. I have found that my tires are leaking air while my car is sitting in the garage so long. At least with the change in weather, winter ice and cold or TX heat in summer, my car’s computer lets me know that the air is down in my tires. Judy, I really liked the XS you pictured, Red Cardinals. Any ideas where that can be purchased when its not a US product? I tried 123-Cross Stitch and did not see it there.

You can order directly from the designer. She will mail if you want a paper copy or send immediately via email if you want a pdf. She is a reputable seller. Many people order from her. I ordered a floss pack for the cardinal from her and she shipped it promptly. It’s in the U.S. already . . but it may be a while before I see it.
