A reader, Shauna, who I feel could be my cross stitching buddy if we were neighbors, asked how many projects I have kitted.
For the most part, when I’m kitting projects, I only include the chart and the called for floss. Once it gets closer to time to start stitching, I’ll choose a linen, then do the “floss toss” where the floss is spread out over the linen to make sure all the colors work together.
All of my planned kits for 2022 are fully kitted with linen and floss that all work well together. There are about 15 of them and they’re in storage ottoman beside my stitching chair.
All of these are listed on my sidebar, along with the possibilities for Sunday Stitches. Some of those are WIPs but about 10 of them are new starts. I’ll start one and finish it, then start another one so we’ll see how that goes. Those are all kitted.
There are 5 that are fully kitted and in the 2023 storage ottoman. Those may not all make the 2023 list but as I come across something I love, if I have the floss for it, I pair it up with linen and stick it in a bag.
If all those numbers are correct, I have about 30 projects kitted.

I need to get one of those ottomans! I need to count but I’m sure I have over 15 new projects kitted with everything ready to go. I had just finished putting together the ones I had to go get fabric and floss for yesterday. I looked at them all leaning against the pattern and fabric box and thought to myself, “I need a way to store these!” The ottoman is a great idea for me anyway as I never recline in the chair I’m in because I can’t quite get it in a great position. I really need to get a new one sized for me but I wonder about the availability in a fabric of my choosing these days.

If it’s anything like here, good luck. We had to wait MONTHS for our recliners here. But, you never know – they may have just what you want in the store. Our store had ONE and we wanted three so we bought that one and ordered two more. We had brought one from Texas so that one, along with the one the furniture store had gave us two and we bought a loveseat they had in stock so we were ok til the others arrived.

Your stash of kits look a lot like mine, except I have mine in 2 plastic bins on my cube unit. And now that they are all ready, I can just sit back and stitch. What a nice feeling.

It is a nice feeling. I hope to kit more up as I have time. It’s so nice to know the floss and fabric are all there with the chart and I don’t have to go digging and make a mess every time I want to start a new project.
