Another Idea From Sheri

As I mentioned earlier, in Sheri’s video #20 that I watched last night, there was so much info. I never have a hard time going to sleep, especially after a swig of cough medicine, but last night I kept thinking about some of the things she said and I couldn’t go to sleep. I’m still sleeping in the basement bedroom due to the coughing all night. I Butnever mind sleeping in the basement and I know how frustrating it must be to try to sleep with someone making as much noise as I make with all the coughing. But, last night, I was able to grab the tablet and look up some things as I thought of them.

At about the 10:38 mark on Sheri’s video, she shows a Prairie Schooler Santa she stitched on a larger weave fabric. I remembered that while going through a stack of fabric the other day, I found a piece of fabric that felt “weird”. It was thick and soft and tightly woven. I hadn’t even looked at the tag but after Sheri showed her Santa, I retrieved that piece of fabric.

This photo above shows the true color and you might can see how tightly it’s woven. It looks like there are two threads going one way and one going the other way.

I’ve never come across fabric like this and don’t even remember thinking it was weird when I opened the package but . . it is weird. Anyone know anything about this?

Early in 2021, I got the Prairie Schoolers for important dates in our family. I knew I’d never get every Santa made but figured I’d get the special ones made. I wrote a blog post about it and if you remember, I said something like “They started making them in 1984”, then went on to say that I got them for the years Vince and I were born . . which was way before 1984, so I had to fix that.

I wrote that post in February if anyone makes any guesses as to what I wondered if you guessed . . the answer is ZERO! 🙂

Anyway, I think I might use this fabric to make a big Santa for the year Addie was born and have it framed for her, then I can make smaller ones for the rest of our important dates. I was going to write that her birth was the biggest change, but without Chad’s birth, Addie wouldn’t be in my life and if Vince and I hadn’t gotten married and then moved to Missouri, Chad wouldn’t have met Nicole and . . it just all gets woven together and all the dates are important. Who knows what I’ll do and if I’ll ever get any of them stitched!
