Sometimes I wonder what Chad did in his spare time before my uncle gave him his old truck. I think their entire town now knows that pickup. Nicole has said that every time they get it out, people stop by to look at it and talk about it.
Taking the old truck out for a drive has become their Sunday pastime . . so long as the weather is good.
Chad has a friend who is not a mechanic by trade but he is so good and he can fix any Chevy or Jeep so most of their friends drive Chevys and Jeeps so this guy will help them work on them. Chad’s pickup is a 2001 model and has about a million miles on it (not really but probably over 300K) and if it weren’t for this friend, Chad would probably have to buy a newer pickup. It’s funny because all those guys who hang out together drive old Chevys and have a newer Jeep for the family vehicle. When Vince was talking about buying a pickup, Chad said “Get a Chevy so S. can work on it.” Right! Like he doesn’t have a real job, a family, a farm and enough vehicles to work on.
Chad’s friend spent a good deal of time working on the old truck this weekend – just little things but Chad said he bets it runs now like it did when it was brand new.
They usually just run around town in it but today they took it out on a bit of a road trip.
Not far but farther than they usually take it.
My grandpa would be so happy to know it’s still in the family all these years and has always been loved and appreciated. I know it makes my uncle happy seeing Chad, Nicole and Addie loving it.
