When I woke up this morning, my head, my nose, my ears – everything was stopped up. After being up for a while, I could breathe a bit but with today being Friday, I figured I’d better go see the doctor. I called and they said I could come in so I told them I’d come in right after lunch since it was about 10 a.m. and I wasn’t dressed for going out of the house.
Ears are stopped up, tonsil don’t look good – not strep throat but he could see why my throat was sore. He even said inside my nose was very red. Thankfully, lungs sounds good and the coughing is just from the tickling in my throat. He sent me home with a Zpack, told me to get back on Flonase and “Do NOT stop using it when you feel better!”
The good news, besides the fact that I don’t have Covid, is that Vince and I both lost weight! Vince lost 10 pounds and I lost 11 . . just the week after Thanksgiving.
It was funny becauses it was only about three weeks ago that we were there and the doctor was encouraging us to do more of a veggie based diet, stay off red meat, stay off sugar. I think really he wants us to stay off meat for the most part, which is never going to happen. Never say never, right? That made it harder to tell him about my incident with the double meat hamburger I ate Tuesday afternoon. He did send an Rx to Walmart for an Epi-pen but it’s right at $300 and since I know what not to eat . . I’ll just be careful what I eat.
Neither of us have been trying to lose weight really but we just haven’t been eating as much. A lot of days, I’ll eat a couple of strawberries or blueberries and maybe a spoonful of almond butter and then nothing else til we have our main meal about 3 p.m. and that’s it for the day. I couldn’t believe we both lost weight but I’ll just be happy about it and hope to lose more before I see him again.
I came home, took the first dose of the meds, went to bed and slept for a couple of hours and now I think I’ll get back to cross stitching.

Is this not a reaction to your covid booster? Didn’t you just have that? I wonder. So many unknowns about this crazy thing. I do hope you feel better soon!

I don’t think it is because I’ve been fighting allergies for well over a week (before the booster). Everyone is burning leaves here. The old guy across the street cut down some trees and I swear he’s had wood scraps smoldering for a month. Our garage smells like a smokehouse from all the leaf/tree smoke outside. This actually happens to me every year at this time.
Thanks – I do hope I’m feeling better tomorrowr.

Glad you did not get Covid but allergies are hard to deal with. I use a generic nose spray every day and take an antihistamine every day due to living in the country with lots of allergens. I have not been sick with allergies in a few years. But it does dry my skin out. Leaves smoke they do not burn and yet people keep doing it. Especially when the wind is blowing in the direction of our house.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
