This is why I cannot plan ahead with my stitching (but I will still plan ahead, knowing I will not stick with the plan).
Last night I saw this Cardinal chart on the Owl Forest (designer of New Year Sampler) website. I told myself I was going to think about it during the night and make a decision this morning. Who could have guessed where this was going? 🙂
I want a cardinal wall. I have several charts . . ok . . dozens of charts with cardinals. I think this one will make an amazing focal point to that wall. If I use 36 count fabric, it will be about 8″ x 12″. If I use 40 count, it will be about 7-1/2″ x 10-1/2″.
I got the digital version of the chart but I ordered her hand dyed floss and it will take several months to get here so I can hopefully get a few things finished before then.
I showed Vince the chart and was so excited. I told him I would make it the center of my cardinal wall and he said “Fine . . so long as it’s bigger than 2″ x 3″, which is all you seem to make.” What?

That is gorgeous. I would go bigger as there is a ton of detail in it and you’re unlikely to stand directly in front of it. Enjoy it from afar 🙂

Going bigger may mean having to use two strands of floss, which I almost will not do. I’ll have to see how one strand works on 36 but if I don’t get enough coverage, I’ll move up to 40. I’ve never used this designer’s floss before so it all depends on the thickness of the floss.

I saw that chart too and am in love with it. I also want to order the floss for it but I still have yet to receive the floss I ordered awhile back…not that I was expecting it! I may order the printed chart too since I would want to use their floss.

I just finished ordering the chart and floss….lol. Decided that even if I have to wait 4 months that’s okay…it’s not like I don’t have other things to work on….lol. I miss cardinals so much so I’m just going to have to make cross stitch ones so I can see them.

That’s how I felt. I’ll gladly wait for the floss but I’d rather stitch from the pdf so I got that. I hope having the cardinals stitched will help you not miss them so much.

How do you convert to US dollars? It’s a beautiful picture.

Google “convert Russian currency to dollars”.

…This is beautiful. I might have to think about it.

Do it!

That is a gorgeous chart – now in my ‘to do’ pile – this will rise to the top for sure.

That is a centerpiece chart, indeed!
I like the variety of colors, so that it’s not all “in your face” red, but the light birds in the lower left almost disappear. I guess this is why you have to choose your linen with care.

I looked at the Christmas Cardinals chart and it is really pretty Then I did a search for cardinals at Owl Forest and found one called Red Cardinals that is a little smaller and slightly different. I don’t know how well I’ll be able to stitch, but I purchased it and am going to give it a try.

Yes, I couldn’t decide which one to get but I did see the Red Cardinals. Both are gorgeous and I’m betting you can do it.
