This morning, Vince said “Can we have biscuits for breakfast?” I said “For a yard of linen!” He said “NO! Did that once; not doing it again!”
I know this sounds bad but I still don’t have the kitchen back to normal from Thanksgiving. The basket that goes into the turkey fryer is still on the counter. The bottom part that catches the drippings is still on the counter. Vince will take those outside and put them back inside the fryer. The cast iron that I don’t use every day goes on a shelf in the garage and it’s still either in the oven or on top of the stove.
But, I know how much he likes breakfast and we’re having turkey, dressing, green beans, Watergate salad, rolls and cranberry sauce for dinner so I fixed breakfast.
Yesterday my legs were still tired, my feet still hurt but today I’ll get the kitchen all put back together and things in there will return to normal.
I think Vince has two football games to watch today so he’ll be downstairs and I’ll get lots of cross stitching time.
Even though he won’t buy me a yard of linen (I do NOT need linen!), he did order me a new Chromebook and it arrived this morning. Vince is so funny. He wanted a 17″ Chromebook and he really does need a new computer. His laptop has been dropped several times and the cord won’t even stay in unless he has a rubberband holding it in. The screen is cracked in 3 places where he sat it on the floor, then the recliner came down on it so, yes, he needed a new Chromebook. The other day he needed my Chromebook to try something that wasn’t working on his. I’ve had this one 6 or 7 months and he was so frustrated that the paint was already off a lot of the keys. Vince looks at the keys and can’t find them with no writing on them.
He said “Do you want another computer?” I said No! I don’t need writing on my keys . . thanks to Mr. Sanders when I was in 9th grade making us learn to type on computers with no letters on the keys!
When we ordered this new computer, I said I didn’t want a touch screen because I’m still afraid after what happened when I was into the html on the blog changing some things, a bug landed on the screen, I hit it and messed up the entire blog and had to pay someone to fix it.
But, after having used this one for 6 or 7 months, I still miss not having a touch screen and I’m always tapping the screen or trying to make a picture larger by using my fingers on the screen. Addie has my old Chromebook with the touch screen and when I’m helping her with something, I realize how much I miss that.
There was a 15″ Chromebook on sale for a bit over $200 and it had a touch screen. He had seen that and I think he was justifying buying himself a new Chromebook, which he should know I never complain about things he gets . . so long as he doesn’t buy a dozen at once . . and he said “I found Chromebook on sale with a touch screen. Do you want it?” Without even thinking, I said YES!
That arrived this morning and that is much better than a yard of linen. I haven’t even turned it on to check for updates but I’ll be so happy to have that touch screen again.
