Once I was finished with the motifs on Addie’s Thanksgiving piece, I thought it was going to be smooth sailing and I’d have this pillow finished quickly. No!
Aside from spending big chunks of the past two days in town, these letters are so slow. Every one of them has at least four half stitches. The letters are supposed to be outline stitched and I thought I could get by without doing that but with the half stitches, they really need outlining.
I’ve done six letters, seven if you count that apostrophe, and have eight more to go. I am going to get all eight letters finished today. Then I have to do an acorn and a leaf. Either after finishing the letters or the acorn and leaf, I have to go back and finish the outline stitching. I’ve been doing it just to finish off the thread I was using but none of them, except the “s” so far have been outlined completely.
This is turning out so cute though. I love the colors together . . but I will be happy to finish it. I’m going to start looking for the Christmas pillow because I would love to give that to her on Thanksgiving Day. Doubtful . . very, very doubtful.

That’s such a great idea for a thanksgiving gift. I saw a free Christmas chart (a stocking with a chicken in it) on the Pinker n Punkin blog. It’s not a very big item but it would make a very cute Christmas ornament (pillow shaped). If you wanted it bigger you could put a border around it to make the pillow size you want. Here’s a link – the charts are near the end of the post https://pinkernpunkinquilting.blogspot.com/2021/11/christmas-stocking-barnyard-christmas.html
