Sometimes, I just have to stop and take a nap. Yesterday by the time we got home, took the dog out, played with Boots, got the car unpacked, it was too late to take a nap but the urge was with me for the entire evening.
Last night we had storms and they were mostly done by the time we went to bed but a couple of times just after I’d fallen asleep, I heard thunder, so it wasn’t the most restful sleep. We didn’t have to get up earlier than normal but we had an appointment in town at 8:30 a.m. so my morning routine was messed up. I got just a bit of stitching done, picked up around my stitching chair, vacuumed and it was time to get dressed to go to town. After we were done with the meeting, we went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. A thrift store is across the street so we went in there. I only found three frames but they were small so there’s no room for cutting them down probably. Hopefully something small I make will fit into them. Two of them were $2.00 (each) and one was $1.50 and when we got ready to check out, there was a 25% discount. On the entrance door, it said 25% off for veterans. I told the lady “We aren’t veterans” and she said “It’s ok .. people will say they are when they aren’t so we just give it to everyone.” Sad that someone would say they’re a veteran if they aren’t, just to get 25% off at a thrift store.
From there we went to Walmart because Vince had something to return. I ran in and went to the vision center to talk to them about readers for cross stitching. They couldn’t do what I wanted without an eye exam and I’m going somewhere else for my eye exam so that didn’t work.
We got home, I stitched about 10 stitches and told Vince “I’m going to take a nap!” Three hours later, I emerged from what felt like a long winter’s nap.
As soon as I woke up, Vince said “Are we having dinner?” I wasn’t even awake yet and almost said “If you fix it!” but I had leftover steak and salmon from yesterday so I fried some green beans, sliced the steak and put it in with the beans, added garlic and a bit of soy sauce, heated up the salmon, fried some green tomatoes and that was dinner.
I’ll probably be up very late stitching tonight .. at least we don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow. Leaving the house and going to place after place after place wears me out. I’m ok for three stops but after that, take me home and let me sleep!

Three stops and you’re out! 😉 I agree. I used to get tired just reading some of your days out in Texas. So many stops!

On the way home, Vince said “Do you mind if I just run in the flea market (different from the last one). You can sit in the car and knit. I’ll be quick!” I said “NO! You deserve to spend all the time you want in the flea market without thinking about me in the car. Take me home and come back or come another day without me.” He said ok . . we’re good! 🙂

-Excellent reply! You were just being considerate of him…

I spent the day Wednesday at surgery center while my daughter had a hysterectomy. Sitting all day on a hard chair with a mask on and not enough light to stitch I was so tired all day yesterday. Great grands we’re here so no nap last night I went to bed at 8. Too old for that !

I hope your daughter is recovering without any problems and I hope you’re getting the rest you need. Yes, some things are much harder to do than they once were.
