Yesterday I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped. I did my morning chores and about 9:00, just when I was thinking I could sit down and start stitching, Vince said “It’s supposed to start raining about 10. Let’s run to Aldi and we’ll get breakfast at Chick-Fil-A.” How could I say no but by the time we ate, got groceries, got home, got the groceries put away, it was close to noon.
I started stitching and by 1, I was sleepy so I took a 2.5 hour nap. Then it was time to get dinner going. It was after 6:30 before I started stitching.
My plan was to get the whole row that starts with “change” done yesterday but I almost got half of it done. Today my plan was to get the top row done so I doubt I get all of it done since I have to finish the other row.
No matter, I’m going to get this done way ahead of schedule. I’ll still have the stitching finished in less than a month from when I started it and that gives me hope that I can finish 12 decent sized projects next year.
Yesterday I did 459 stitches and at first, I was disappointed but then I remembered it wasn’t long ago I was happy with 200 stitches.
It’s supposed to rain most of today so I’m hoping we can stay home and I can stitch.

It is a perfect day for sitting at home and stitching. Before I left for work, I mentioned that all I want to do is sit around and work on projects or read a good book. It is going to rain all day in Southeast Kansas.

Yes a great day to stay home. No stitching so far but it’s about to begin. Stay dry and when you’re back home from working, maybe you can stitch and then read . . you’ve earned that pleasure!

My goodness. You’ve spent more time in a car “running to a store” since Vince arrived than the previous 5 years in TX. Will Vince settle down and enjoy home soon? Or is this his MO?

I don’t think he will stop going to town. In TX, we had few shopping places he liked and we were so far from town, and there were fewer restaurants he liked. Here, we’re about 10 miles from the Joplin shopping area, lots of retaurants he likes and he just can’t help himself. I feel bad always saying NO, I don’t want to go but at some point, I’m going to say NO and mean it. Shopping with him is torture. He goes up and down every row, puts a million things in the cart that we don’t need and won’t use. Today I’m fixing a roast and had planned to fix green beans and rice and gravy but I opened the cabinet, looked at all the food he buys so we’re having some kind of dried tortellini in a boxed sauce and a can of weird peas with seasoning that he bought. That’s two things out of my pantry.
