When watching floss tubes, the stitcher will say “X, Y and Y and I are all starting this chart on January 1 and having a stitch along”. I often think . . I wonder if I could join but I’m a nobody in the stitching world and maybe they want just famous floss tubers joining in so I never do.
Here’s an open invitation to anyone – any time I’m stitching something, if you want to get the same thing and do it with me, I’d love to have company. I sometimes do Instagram (like 3 times a year!), sometimes do Facebook but mostly I post on the blog. I could change that if others wanted to participate. Denise doesn’t do Instagram or Facebook but she has her blog. Several bloggers who all run in my circle do Instagram, Facebook and, of course, the blog.
While there isn’t anything “formal”, Denise and I are starting New Year Sampler with Alphabet by OwlForest on Christmas Eve. One thing for certain . . if I’m in the group, you will not be the last one to finish! 🙂
While writing this post, there is only one copy of the chart available where Denise and I bought ours but that same Etsy shop seems to have an independent (of Etsy) shop here. As of now, they still have this chart listed.
The great thing about this chart, as so many have mentioned, is that there are so many motifs that could be stitched separately for little pinkeeps or on a tea towel or a table runner or even a bookmark. So many quick ideas that all add up to a gorgeous project.
So . . any time you see something I’m going to stitch and you want to do a little SAL with me, let’s do it!

Okay crazy lady — someone said “OK. Christmas Eve start it is!” not New Year’s eve. LOL You are on a chart buying high and just don’t know what you are saying. 🙂

Did I say New Year’s Eve? Good grief . . let me go fix that!

I think I confused myself – New Year Sampler . . well, there’s no rhyme or reason to the crazy things that happen in my head. I’ve fixed it so hopefully we can get it all straightened out before Christmas! 🙂

Yes – and makes you wonder why the chart is named “New Year Sampler” when the motifs are Christmas.

I thought the same thing and went back and looked twice before typing the name but then . . still managed to screw things up.

I think you may be a bigger deal than you think. It is sold out everywhere that I have looked. I will keep looking. Are ya’ll going to stitch a continually or will it be a day of the week stitch?

I think we’re going to just stitch! Since this Love Your Family is kicking my butt because I keep wanting to stitch on something else, and since every time I’ve done a stitch along, I’ve failed miserably and have never finished one, I’m just going to stitch. When I watch the floss tubes, I will hear stitchers say “This was a SAL from 2020 and Stitcher #1 has finished hers and Stitcher #2 is halfway done” so I want it all to be at the leisure of the stitcher and not something that creates stress (not that stitching creates stress for me . . obviously)!
I will search and see if I can find more charts. If you find some, will you share the link please.

I haven’t cross-stitched in years and years and years but you’ve got my interest in this one. Unfortunately, the chart is sold out on both sites. I got on the wait list and we’ll see if I can get one. I did something similar many years ago by just choosing Christmas motifs I liked and stitching them in a grid with rows of vertical/horizontal dividers between motifs. Whew! Long sentence.

I’m fixing to do a blog post. Give me a few minutes and check it. Another option for getting the chart.

I have G. Leger and would like to stitch along with you when you start that one. I am going to use DMC floss. I do Facebook but not Instagram.

Let’s do it.
