This is another “not a commercial”. I am not affiliated with Victoria Clayton floss in anyway. You spend $1,000 . . I get nothing. But, I love supporting an “idie dyer”. In this post, I talked more about her silk floss and a cost comparison.
Yesterday I decided to start a project using her silks. I knew I couldn’t get far on it and I need to finish Love Your Family but . . what could a few stitches hurt.
And Heaven and Nature Sing by Kathy Barrick is one that I have the conversions for. I had wanted to start it the other day and talked myself out of that. Kudos to me for that, right? 🙂
It looks kinda quick and easy and some crazy part of me thinks I could have it done by Christmas .. and that’s true I’m sure . . just not Christmas, 2021.
But I decided to start it just so I could either say “Hmmm .. maybe not so fast!” or “I love this floss!”
I 100% love this floss. I think I’ve only stitched with two other silks so there are several name brand silks I have not tried but the VC silks ae unbelievable smooth and flow through fabric like butter. Compared to cotton, the two silks I had previously used were smooth but they aren’t nearly as smooth as the VC silks.
I am not a perfect stitcher – far from it! I see pictures and I can tell their stitches look way better than mine but the few stitches I made last night with this floss look amazing.
That’s all the stitching I got done with it and I’ll have to put it away and get back on the project that has a deadline but, at least for now, this going to be my floss of choice when I need something other than DMC.
By the way, that is stitched on 40 count linen, 1 strand over 2 threads.

I love the Clayton silks. I’ve used them for a long time in my crazy quilting and they are beautiful to work with and beautiful to see stitched. I’m glad you found them, no thanks to me. I couldn’t have testified how pretty they would be in cross stitch, but they really are.

She has so many colors! I’m glad you’ve had great results with them too. Thanks for sharing that.

Victoria is kitting up the silks for the Sarah Braizear 1829 HATS design. Also known as the 2018 Queen of May. I will be stitching on 45 ct Linen and starting Jan 1. I am excited to use the silk. Thanks for sharing, I evereally would have found her otherwise.
