We were in Walmart last week and there were two things that made me happy. When being in Walmart makes me happy . . we may have a problem!
First, they had canning jars which have been scarce all season in our Walmart. Here we are at the end of traditional canning season, and they have canning jars.
Second, I saw these throw away plates, saucers and napkins for Thanksgiving.
I had to get them because the pickup is almost the color of my grandpa’s old pickup that Chad has. Addie informed me the color of Pop’s old truck is “Tropical Turquoise”.
It kinda seems weird to me that a 1959 Chevy could be Tropical Turquoise and even more weird is that my grandpa bought it! My grandpa was probably 48 years old when he bought that pickup and that color makes me laugh. Every other vehicle he ever owned that I remember was either tan or brown. Whatever made him buy a Tropical Turquoise pickup?

Judy With the name of the color of the truck–think about it Tropical Turquoise–Hawaii became a state in 1959, so it might befitting that they name a color in honor of the state that is in the tropics–just a wild guess–but who knows. Like I’ve been told, they have to name it something. By the way it is a really neat truck. We always have our eyes out for vintage and antique vehicles when on the road.

48 years old. Hmmmm. Must have been midlife crisis. I hear that makes people do weird stuff. I probably did too. Just can’t remember. That truck (both on the plates and the real one blogged about) is so cute-color and all.
