Back in April, 2021, I was looking for ottomans for storage, as well as for propping up our feet if we sat on the sofa. They were hard to find and I couldn’t find anything that I thought I wanted for in front of the sofa. Then I decided I’d buy a small one and put in front of the family room window so maybe when Boots was upstairs, he would sit on that and look out the window. I ended up buying a cardboard type ottoman from Amazon for about $25.00 to see if it was ok and I loved it. Boots is ok with it but I think with it between my chair and the window, he feels trapped. He’s much happier sitting on the stand where my computer is supposed to sit. He can see out the window, he isn’t boxed in by my chair and, if he’s happy, I’m happy. I ended up putting the ottoman over by another chair because if someone is sitting there, (Addie), it’s a good place for her to put her tablet or her book. I have it full of project bags with charts, floss and some fabric.
When we were in Aldi yesterday, they had very similar ottomans for $12.99 so we bought two of those. I came home and put one together and I’m going to put it by my stitching chair and my plan is to put the charts I want to make sooner rather than later in that ottoman and then the longer term “some day” projects will remain in the other ottoman.
I think I’ll put the second ottoman we bought yesterday downstairs and keep the projects I’m currently working on in there. I always put them back in project bags and put them either on a shelf or in the closet. So far, Boots hasn’t bothered them but . . you never know what he might do.
For $12.99, the Aldi ottomans were a great deal.

Good tip. I can always use more storage! Thanks.
