Lately, I’ve been feeling the knitting urge. I keep a sweater in the car and knit on it when Vince is driving. Two or three months ago we went to Branson. I knitted on the way there and on the way back. We don’t go places very often so it would take a lifetime to get a sweater knitted at that rate.
This morning, in my email was a note from Tin Can Knits about a new sweater, Rockfall. That did it! I love colorwork. I love sweaters. I bought the pattern and went digging . . and I mean . . it’s excavating type digging . . trying to find yarn. Actually, my first thought was that I would just hop over to The Loopy Ewe‘s website, order yarn and not have to dig but then I decided since there’s more yarn downstairs than I’ll use in two lifetimes (and I probably only have one, or what’s left of one), I should use something I have here. Of course, I could change my mind.
I was looking for Cascade 220 because I have a good bit of that and it’s a good choice for this but before I found that, I came across Gilda, a sweater I had started in November, 2019.
I’m pretty close to getting to the point where I only have to knit with one color. I should be able to make some good progress on this but . . I told myself .. and you know that myself doesn’t always listen and do what I say . . but I have to stitch 450 stitches on Love Your Family before I can knit. That’s every day! As soon as I’ve stitched 450 stitches, I can knit. How’s that for incentive to get cross stitching done?

Your knitting is beautiful! I’m a knitter also besides a cross stitcher and a quilter. That’s why I never seem to finish much of anything! Lol

That’s strange, why did my comment come under the name freetimefun2017? That’s not me.

I have no idea but that name has been showing up in comments and I had no idea who it was. Glad that mystery is at least partially solved.

I can definitely relate to never finishing much but it surely is fun starting new projects.

I need to finish as pair of socks. I thought I would get them done as I recovered from a spinal fusion, laminectomy…. but I could not sit for very long…. now I’d like those socks please…. but I have lost my knitting mojo too.

Don’t push it. I think that’s one thing that did me in with quilting – I kept pushing myself because I had so many projects and now, I don’t know if it will ever come back. With knitting, I just closed the door and didn’t worry about it and now it’s coming back. I hope yours will return too.
