Vince went off with one of his friends yesterday morning for not quite two hours, came home and decided he needed to go to town – another flea market, Walmart and a couple of other places. Saturday the guys are supposed to work on finishing the stairs for the deck. Addie’s last game is in Nevada so we were going to go but it’s the Apple Butter Festival in Mount Vernon and Vince wanted to go to that but he said “One of us has to be home if the guys are here working so I’ll stay here.” I thought . . right . . you’re going to stay home all day. Never happen.
Vince did switch the larger dehumidifier downstairs to dry the kitchen floor from underneath and brought the one that was down there upstairs. That one is a bit newer and not quite so noisy so that’s been nice. I let it run all day while the hammering and sawing was going on but when they left, I turned it off for a couple of hours just to have some quiet time. It all means progress — progress with the floor drying and progress on the deck so I shouldn’t complain.
Here’s a funny Vince story. He walked over to the neighbors (the ones that have the two young boys). Vince wanted to talk to their dad but he was working late. The younger one is 3 but not quite 3-1/2 yet. He came running up to Vince and the mom said “Oh, he saw you outside this afternoon and said “I need to go hug Vince!” He is the funniest kid. Most kids are afraid of Vince because he’s kinda gruff and can seem grumpy but this little guy wanted to come hug Vince. Easy to be around a kid with that kind of personality.
Additions:
You already know about this. Two charts ordered – G. Leger and Elizabeth Eyles, 1799.
I did order some floss from Victoria Clayton.
Cooking:
Leftover crab cakes, steamed broccoli with toasted walnuts.
Videos I Watched:
Prims on Greenway #22 – My first time to watch her.
I watched others – one from John Campbell, the British nurse or doctor – not sure what he is but I like most of his videos. I watched one about the economy, then went and watched one that came in recently from our investment guy. Those things will keep you up at night! 🙁
Stitching:
Lots of stitching. Met my goal on Love Your Family. Will do a post about that. I did stitch over 600 stitches yesterday. I’m Speedy Gonzales with that sewing method of stitching.
Plans for Today:
Vince still hasn’t done the grout on the tile and things have gradually found their way back onto the countertop so all that has to be moved and I need to make sure the tile are all clean and free of grease so I’ll spend some time in there. The guys working on the deck are not coming here Thursday so Vince is going to do the grouting then.
I will stitch. I will not buy charts or floss. 🙂
