Yesterday morning, Vince and I walked outside with Rita and it almost took my breath away. It was so cool! It smelled so good . . Fall was in the air. By the afternoon, it got up near 85 and it was warm but the morning gave me hope that most of the heat is behind us.
I was going to say neither of us left the house but Vince went to town. Not even sure where all he went . . Home Depot, Walmart, Aldi . . his usual stops. We’re eating a lot of salads and lettuce just don’t last two weeks so he goes out and buy lettuce and cucumbers at least once a week. We still have lots of tomatoes in the garden.
There were three guys here working yesterday and two of them left about 1 p.m. to go over and help a guy in Oklahoma. It was our friend who had referred them to us for doing what we needed done. The other guy is a tree guy and sometimes needs more helpers for big jobs so our guys went there except for one who stayed here to finish pulling the screws out of the deck. They should all be back this morning to try to get more work done on the deck and . . make more noise.
I had a few mums that needed planting so Vince and I decided where to put them, he dug holes and planted them.
Additions:
The only thing I ordered was Vince’s Christmas gift. 🙂
Cooking:
Made crabcakes and spaghetti squash. In fact, we’re having crabcakes again today because there were leftovers and we don’t want to keep crab too long! I think I’ll fix broccoli with toasted walnuts and butter, as mentioned by a reader.
Videos I Watched:
I think I may take this videos watched section out. I’ve been disappointed with so many flosstubes I’ve watched lately and there are maybe three people I’ll watch til the end. As soon as I take it out, I’ll come across one I love so I guess I’m going to leave it in here but not put anything in unless it’s something I loved.
Stitching:
LOTS of stitching! I’m working on Love Your Family by Teresa Kogut. I’ll do a post after while with pictures.
Plans for Today:
Vince keeps unpacking boxes outside (because there are roaches at the storage buildings), bringing in what he can, shaking out clothes and things that need to be washed, piling that up outside til I go out, go through it, sort it for washing and then I usually wash at least two loads per day. There’s so much stuff we don’t need.
Yesterday I didn’t wash anything so he put it all in bags after I sorted it and we left those in the back of the pickup. Today I’ll take a bag out, shake everything out again, bring that stuff in and wash it and hope there are no critters that end up in the house.

Yuck on the bugs! That’s an excellent reason to get things out of the storage buildings! I ran into that some when we cleaned out my grandmother’s house. She had boxes in their storage building, and we used them to bring things home. My mom saw one and warned me, so I hurried up and emptied the box and took it outside. There was one in my box too…

I am agreeing on floss tube I was thinking the same thing this morning. I am going to cut it down to a couple. Ones that don’t “sell” so much. Just talk cross stitching show new projects.

I love the video section! Please keep it. I find it so useful. It takes me to the site and I can then watch or not.

OK!

Perhaps it would be a good idea to keep the videos watched section (as you just agreed), and just tell us the good ones, and also edit (or remove?) the sidebar “Flosstubes I Love.”

You might buy some foggers to set off in your storage building before bringing anything else home. They work great!

It’s a massive set of storage buildings and I don’t know that a fogger in ours would do much good plus there are things in there we probably don’t want to have those chemicals on them. We just need to get our stuff out, find a place for it all here and save that money too.
